Crinacle and rtings did extensive research on this and concluded it doesn't exist. It all depends on our ears, listening to an iem for extensive period of time makes our ears to get used to that particular tuning and thus the sound gets more natural, which is absolutely not burn in or the driver opening up.
Hey there, while it's true that personal perception and adaptation play a role in our listening experience, the concept of burn-in or driver opening up is still a topic of discussion among audio enthusiasts. Crinacle and Rtings have provided valuable insights based on their research, highlighting the influence of ear adaptation. However, some users claim to notice subtle changes in sound characteristics over time. Ultimately, it's up to individual interpretation and preference. So, whether you believe in burn-in or not, the most important aspect is to enjoy the music and find the best sound that suits your taste.

Burn-in for IEMs is done when they're new. After a year of use, they should be settled into their sound signature. However, if you feel like they've changed or degraded over time, you can try a short burn-in period by listening to them continuously for a few hours. But typically, it's not necessary after extended use.
