Even back in the 1980's, Kmart was a place where you slum shopped. The store was old and gross, and the cashiers were toothless and nasty. The whole store had an odor of mold and old cat piss.
Kmart doesn't know what it wants to be... even if it were brought back, it wouldn't stand a chance cause there's literally no specific audience they can pander to that already hasn't been by Amazon, Target or Walmart.
