I used to love this movie when it came out, I was 15 years old, I have not seen it since my teenage years, I should give it another watch. Plus it has one of my favorite movie explosions in it!
I've got to say: i didn't even know of this movie's existence (but i was born in '90, so since it bombed i'm not too surprised), now regardless of how much you tore it a new asshole, i have developed a weird morbid curiosity for it, if nothing else to just see the parallels with Pirates
It's difficult to say about Pirate movies, because there's a huge difference between the fantasy pirates and real life pirates (eg. Is Captain Phillips a Pirate movie?) But there are some notable films that skirt in. The first one that jumped to mind was The Bounty (1984) with Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins; they're mutineers and not pirates but I would argue it still counts. There are a handful of mostly quality (mostly due to the acting) TV adaptions of classic pirate novels like The Master of Ballantree (1984) with Michael York and Treasure Island (1990) with Charlton Heston and Christian Bale. There are a handful of movies based on the anime One Piece, none of which have I seen, but the show itself is obviously beloved. I wouldn't say any of these are up to the quality of the classic pirate films (Sea Hawk, Captain Blood, The Black Pirate, etc.), with the exception of possibly The Bounty, but if one is clambering for pirate movies, they certainly are worth watching.
V8, cold and salty tomato soup LOL. Delicious.

always nice to see a new episode!
Best villain reaction: Lance Henrikson in Hard Target unscrewing the grenade but the fuse still triggers. "Hahaha...ooops"
The goonies is kind of a pirate movie.

3 minutes in and now I have to go and watch The Strangers Chapter 1 Part 1 Episode 1: The Plasterer (genuinely pausing this to watch it :D )
