Hey Eclipse, I am an ex-developer from that community! I’d like to shine some light on the issues within that game and developer team. I forget how recently it was but the game was overthrown from the original owner who was 13 at the time and he was actually made fun of by the staff for his parents getting divorced, PUBLICLY IN ANNOUNCEMENTS. The dev team for that game was never the greatest, they constantly ripped ideas with their excuse being "it’s just inspiration" and it’s no secret they also like to "borrow" assets as well. The game was requested to have all ABD assets removed by the head developer of that community and though they started to, they quit working on it shortly after because they were told that the head dev can’t do anything about it. Instead of reworking the game for their own enjoyment and upgrade potential, they took the easy way simply because of their own laziness. I quit this community for a reason, the dev team was toxic, biased, was openly one sided towards some members of their community simply because they were friends, and they didn’t even follow the own staff rules that I created and laid down for them to follow in order to have a JUST staff team. I hate to spread shade but that community is nothing but shadiness. The game isn’t worth playing or getting into, period.
You may notice similarities between this game and another ABD modded, A Bootleg’s Day. The dev team including me actually originated from that game but due to internal issues with the owner we were removed entirely and we restarted with ABDM:R, the game you just played. The game used to be a project for our own enjoyment, turned cash and player grab. It pains me to see a project I genuinely used to love working on go to crap all so quickly. The ABLD assets you may see in game belong to us, we made them and simply carried them over because we weren’t paid for them or refused payment, but that doesn’t protect them from their asset borrowing scandal.

Ah yes, the game that rivals SAKURA STAND at difficulty in specs/stand obtainment, and just enough amounts of busted stands thatre unobtainable. I used to love ABDMR. I had some of the hardest stuff in the game to get like Minos, and Karma. Then they reset the game a while ago due to the fact they wanted to use a more modern data system, and said it was impossible to transfer the old data to the new one. (It's not impossible.)
Edit: also the oni who keep killing you is people is on a quest to kill if I remember correctly +50 people for the garou spec which is actually just a. Ripoff of garou from SBG, just with animations made by the game developers instead of being ripped straight from sbg.

Speaking of things based off of ABD to try to trick idiots with bad game designed, I introduce to you a ABD based game called "Inevitable Town" and yes it has a wiki cuz every game needs one of those at this point it aint a surprise, however it is actually fun even without needing to abuse a wiki, Inevitable town is a wave defense game that as i said before based itself off of ABD and how ABD combat used to work but with a more deepwoken touch up with parrying and dodging included. I highly recommend you play it with friends as that's when i found it most enjoyable, but you can play with other random people in the game but usually they just string you along with the meta strat or also have no idea what they are doing.
ABDMR actually was a pretty decent ABD mod before they released karma. after that the game went into the more AUT "direction", and i use that word loosely bc it just doesn't work, but since nobody gives a fuck it is what it is. been there since they merged with another ABDM recreation for some reason, so i know what am saying
respectfully; no abd mod is or was and will ever be decent.

I played this game a couple months ago, was pretty into it because it was of ABD style. Until suddenly the owner did a complete data reset and reset everyone’s stands / specs for no given reason. In return, he put in a 3x item spawn rate? I asked people around ingame what they thought about it and they said this happens often. I asked about how the admins are basically just killing their own game, they said the devs did not care whatsoever. This game is a huge waste of time to grind because in the end you’ll most likely just lose it all.
Maybe someone had duplicated something ingame so they wanted to remake the whole thing? I swear they brung back all of the unobs so you win some and lose some.

The data reset was for a data system change in order to prevent random data losses
Here's to hoping that I don't end up on DDOS, but I feel like Heaven Stand (the reworked version) is pretty enjoyable. You can get any stand or spec for free immediately and jump into pvp. It's pretty much a battlegrounds game, with the meter bar from AUT added on top, except it actually feels like it fits the game.
Now that I think about it, I wanna ask for the next Q&A : What are your thoughts on battlegrounds games? (especially the strongest battlegrounds)

My favorite quest is the one where you have to wait 15 hours with a 1/5000 chance to get an item, go to the quest npc, give the npc that item and 150,000,000 lire, kill 50 people with every ability in the game, then get the rare item from before and another rare item that spawns every 1 second with a .5/40590 chance and then sell your house to get the cool stand.

Not defending the game, just adding onto what eclipse said to kinda shine some light. For the selective running point, that’s because the development team (terrible team btw) had an old system for half the stands in the game, more notably the more OP stands and specs. When they switched over to the new combat system it also added visual cooldowns. The new system also added sprint. They didn’t maintain this function, so about 80% of abilities can’t run! Then the health scaling. Good rule of thumb for this game is the harder to get the ability the more total health you’ll have. (Total health means health healed from awakenings.) for example Fallen Child (undertale spec that takes forever to get) can awaken and get its max health boosted to 400. Then they can be overheated by the team fortress 2 medic (not joking) and get over 500 health, plus the Uber charge. Then the development team has a server where you can report bugs the game has. From my experience I reported a bug, got no response in the ticket for four days, then they closed it without another word. All n all, terrible game mainly ruined by the development team’s laziness.

Hey Eclipse, I wanted to ask if you would play anime fighting games, like Heavens Arena, maybe even with your friends if they have time.
I played this game when it wasn't remade and Boy i wish they never made the remake. The older version was a ABD styled game that was less stupid but more fun version of the game. By all means it was garbage but it was 100% better then whatever the hell they made it today. OH Btw The "dickhead" is doing a quest, But he's doing it wrong because you have to kill separate people on the map. Now what he means by "Worse then Sakura stand" is the obtainment for Star Glitcher. So first you must collect 13 Resilience points? But how do you get those points? Well You need to get different specs/stands of course, And they come from the hardest stuff in the game, One of them(Karma) Is a Fetch quest where you must collect one of the rarest items in the game. But it's not done oh no no no. Then you gotta throw them away into a forge so you can get it. I could've explained the entire process like my friend did, But I'm not going to give you that hell.
One of the things that made ABD so good, is the fact that no matter how common and cheap certain Stands are, they all are viable for PVP and can be "mastered". It doesn't matter if you don't have STW or TA4, you can just use what you like. It is not out of ordinary to see a Crazy Diamond absolutely body a GER here, nor to see a Hierophant Green destroy a Star Platinum.
A lot of these "modded" games ignore that, and give the more common Stands absolutely nothing (Sometimes straight up nerfing them for no reason) while turning all the rarer stuff into weirdly overpowered garbage that can one shot anyone, and it just fails.

I joined this community around May of last year as a tester and content creator. and yeah, I could agree with everything you're saying.
This game is lazily put together and most if not literally everything is stolen. There's only 2 abilities in this game that are even somewhat interesting which are Karma and Killbot. The cool stuff, or rather, the abilities they actually put effort into, are obviously all exclusive to staff or developers or only obtained through "tournaments" which never happened when I was active in this community and game.
I got exiled from this community and most of the other ABD modded games for some false allegations, and I was tossed away and banned on the spot, and I wasn't even given a chance to explain myself for things I didn't do.
A lot of drama from Roblox jojo in my life came from this game and some of the corrupt staff, so I thank the ABDMR staff for bending me the hell over and fucking me.

Funnily enough, I went to middle/highschool with 2 of the devs on the team (Leo, and renbyte) there’s a few things i know about them that they’d probably wanna keep buried (considering renbyte, was a creep in person) I don’t know too much about Leo, since I haven’t really spoken to him since middle school but all in all the game sucks. Onis have like a 500 kills quest to get akuma. (It only works in public servers and dummies don't count) that's why onis were tryna kill u for no reason. Also the game is more-so people with unobs flexing rather than ppl with op stands flexing. Most op stuff isn't that hard to get through trading and afk zone. The reason to why rokas and arrows are free is because they're mostly only needed for those common stands. There's only like 2 super rare ones that most ppl forgot about.

-Locks Star Platinum and The World behind QUESTS, rather than arrows like a normal game (even if they're fairly easy)
-Has the existence of Prime Souls, Karma, and Galactic(al) Surge (you know damn well he'd be mad at fighting Karma or Sisyphus)
-Has Hero Hunter (im assuming he'd hate TSB)

Abdm:r had business man which is a spec you could get after maybe 2 hours, the spec worked like a tycoon, and you could spam a button to keep using the money to heal (this was extremely broken) and it only got patched after people were killing devs with it
How to tell that not only the game is fucked, but so are the devs:
They change something after they get killed with it (because "im mad that you beat me in my own game with that so ill make it unplayable for you" is a completely valid reason if you are the developer for some reason.)
They give updates every millennium.

As a day one player of abdmr from it's launch for 2 years now including that it was a rerun of a previous game ro:abdm, i could say that the game itself, community has grown out of control as of recent, people are unbearable and the grinding sucks. ever since the new data stores a month ago, the game had become a grinding hell where it requires feats such as "Kill 500 players with oni" to get one specific evolution just to grind for the next
Thus why you're being random killed constantly, and or well.. rking is fun, but outside of the roughness of stuff or the reflections it may have to other games or the confusion.. i can say the game is pretty fun once you can get past the whole dying rught off the jump bit.

I played for like a day, found out Oni, whatever it’s called that the dude was using trying to kill you with, takes like 500 kills. And it’s a 1/10 or 1/100 for the evolution to succeed, otherwise it’s another 500 kills. So it’s very common place for people to do that there, which makes for horrible gameplay.
That's wrong, the quest is guaraanted to work, you prolly got it mixed up with the uber oni skin which is unobtainable anyway, but yes, 500 kills every attempt to get the uber oni skin was hell.
yea no thats for the uber oni skin, your guaranteed to get akumaa after the 500 kills but I will say its still way too long of a grind for how badly they nerfed oni recently.

fun fact: mods arent your worse enemy, the players are the power hungry ones. You can say something thats just a joke, but a player will try (and sometimes succeed) at getting you banned. the mods, from what i could tell, were sick of their job and just wanted to get shit over with. (however i absolutely bet there are mods that are as power hungry as the players)

My experience with this game was just grind hours for X item to get B ability then use B ability in really long quest to get A ability then rinse repeat until you can trade for 1 unobtainable. It's just abd but you're business man
There is a lot of imbalance of abilities in this game, but in particular I would like to mention Minos Prime, Sisyphus Prime, GS and Boombox Brawler, I understand that if the one who plays them is very weak, then you can defeat him
But if they play very well even with fetal abilities, forget that even with their similar or better abilities you cannot defeat them fr
Why would ANYONE recommend eclipse to play abd modded type games when they know the type of game he plays and it is NOT their anime afk comfort game
