Couldn't the sugar variable be considered categorical as one of the items is sugar free?

No because sugar in this case is measured in a numerical quantity i.e. grams. Sugar free in this example is measured as 0gs. If the variable for sugar was instead framed as 'does the coffee contain sugar?' with a simple yes/no being the answer, then it would be considered a categorical variable. Hope that makes sense even though its 3 years late haha

Two of the variables are categorical. Hot or cold is categorical. Has sugar or has no sugar is also categorical.

Because it is listed as Sugars(g) it is not categorical, had it been listed as Sugar(Y/N) it would be. This is stating the amount of sugar in the drink not wether or not it contains sugar.
