Thank you for posting this, it’s good to get an expert commentary like yours rather than just counting the beats and bars. This sequence dance will be over 100 years old in a decade and a bit, who would have thought that dancers would be dancing it for so long.

Why is this called Swing Waltz? I know several styles of swing dance, and I don't recognize any swing elements here. I'm not saying this needs to include elements from swing dances. I'm just wondering: why is this called Swing Waltz?

Hi Jonathon. Not sure specifically as I didn't create it, but it definitely has nothing to do with Swing Dancing. Not aware that you can swing dance to waltz rhythm. This is a New Vogue dance - maybe it is because there is a swinging/lilting action in the dance and with the arm movements.
