When it comes to keeping food cold on your adventures you can’t beat a good eski, ice box, cooler, chilli bin or whatever you want to call them. And the Dometic Patrol 35 is an exceptional cooler! Its that good it is direct competition for the Yeti Tundra 35 cooler, and so it should be considering the price is equivalent.

What does all this mean? It will hold ice for 7 days (in the best conditions) in the real world camping in and out of it all day you will easily get 2-3 days. It’s built tough and rugged and it looks good too!
Those of you that have been following me for a while know I have run 12v fridges for years on my adventures, Why change to an ice box? The simple reason is I have found I like to have a glass or two of whisky and it’s just not the same without ice. Hence the need for a good cooler.
I’ll be honest I actually wanted a Yeti Tundra 35. When I was in the search for the best deal I found the Dometic Patrol 35 and at a way better price. Once I compared the two side by side I quickly realised there wasn’t actually much difference between them. So I decide to give it a shot. Also in case you couldn’t tell I instantly feel in love with the bright vibrant colours that were available.
If you are looking for a top of the line icebox / cooler the Dometic Patrol range is definitely worth checking out.

The rrp is around $400 in Australia 🇦🇺 we picked it up for around $250 delivered. Dometic often have them on sale
Dometic coolers are crap! Save your money. Not worth the money. Save your wallet and buy a normal ice cooler. The ice lasts just as long. Terribly disappointed after having spent ALOT of money on this cooler,
I’ve had some crap coolers over the years for similar money. This is way better than most I’ve owned. There is only one better I’ve had that I got from a cheap department store but it was stolen and when I went to get another they were discontinued.
I used a normal ice cooler on a 3 day getaway drive... Did not last 2. This one however... Beast.
