I have to comment, I love what you're doing, but the hundreds of dollars worth of tools you use sort of belittle the, "you can make 80 bucks out of a cheap piece of wood". A beginning woodworker does not have a joiner, may not have a planer, might have access to a drum sander, but then again.... Hopefully has a table saw, but even those are expensive. While I appreciate the ideas and the concept of this video, I feel compelled to remind you that those of us who are just starting out do not have professional tools. The comments you make at the end intimate that any of us can make 80 bucks out of a single board, but the reality is that only those with access to the tools you have can really fully utilize the whole board. Something to think about.
Better tools make life easier/quicker. But basically a 2nd hand circular saw, drill and straight edge will get you started. Material can be free if you strip pallets etc. As for planer and thicknesser, bit of sandpaper wrapped around a block of wood will get you started.
