I have epilepsy but I missed the warning ... I know how to avoid it in cases like this (where lights get progressively faster) but it did weird me out that a kpop MV would make me close my eyes :O

dont listen to that person, if ur friend is photosensitive epileptic with seizing, i wouldn’t risk it at all (i have an epileptic family member). even slowed down, the brightness is still flashing pretty quickly
I think one of the reasons it's edited like this is so you don't catch everything at once and absorb something new with every watch. Yeah it's daring to edit it like this cause it's not for everyone so I hope they release a more comfortable version for people who can't watch this but this is still a valid artistic choice

good concept, I understand what the editor was going for... perfectly fits the Virtual feel, the screen door effects, the old tv effects, pictures popping in and out... love it. might be a bit excessive but love it!
I think the main issue is that the camera shots/framing and the position all the girls are in throughout the different scenes that keep being switched between are all very different which makes it feel abit jarring/your eyes are darting everywhere to try and keep track of what's going on instead of being able to focus on one area of the screen. Results in a bit of vertigo/sickness/visual overload (in a bad way). Needs to be more flow. But apart from that I love it. And yeah the concept behind this video was definitely giving life flashing before your eyes vibes.
I also understand what the editor was going for, but I think if they used a lot of match-cuts in this mv instead of a jarring amount of straight cuts (I do love the straight cuts don't get me wrong, but it's a bit overwhelming), it would have not only been not painful to watch, but also get the theme of distortion between virtual and reality across very effectively. Nevertheless, this mv and song is going to be my new obsession for the whole summer lol.
i actually love the mv so much, it’s so out of the norm from something you’d see with kpop! For me, the whole video was so captivating even if you’re not focusing on each individual frame. Each time I watch the video, the story comes together bit by bit, it’s so different and the girls look magical, like they’re in their elements!

I don't know why but listening to this song gets me choked up Something about it just feels so warm and safe It doesn't stand out too much but at the same time it doesn't feel bland or boring either. It's familiar, nostalgic, and effervescent. It feels safe, like the warmth you feel going home after a fun energy-filled day with your friends and looking at the sunset as you walk back home. It's that exact feeling. Genuinely my favorite post LOONA release so far def one of my comfort songs
I was initially unable to look at all because it felt like eye overload, but after a while I kind of lost focus and just looked hypnotically in the center of the screen, and that's when I realized that life imitates art.
I love how it is very experimental and beautiful at the same time. Goosebumps. Saw someone's suggested that the editing may have been done this way because of the concept: you can't look long at divine and angelic creatures as they are extraterrestrial and your eyes would hurt because their glow is too bright, or you start tripping when you look at them. It may explain: 1:47 people are blind(?) and then their eyes start to change when they look at the sky 2:36 when they are dancing on the roof their images are very bright and imperceptible to human vision and the girl that's watching them has to use video camera to make them more 'visible' (she's also looking at the camera's display, not directly at them, so she doesn't go blind). or it could be that they're not actually there and girl is seeing them only on camera because they are 'virtual' 2:11 'the sun will never win against me' kinda suggests that they are even brighter then the star itself, and the whole scenes when they dance on clouds suggest that 'you don't need the sun, be under us, we are better' And overall the whole thing about girls with wings that are breaking cars, making a mess kinda looks like a cult that recruited the girl in the car at around 0:16 ps. I understand people's complaints though, the MV can be difficult to perceive ps.2 I just went through the comments and omg there are so many good theories of this like it's a 'flashing of memories before life ends', 'angels can be blinding but the more you look the more you see'. It's nice when people can not only complain, but can also think and appreciate.

What's crazy is their company didn't put in the epilepsy warning, even though they should have. Some kind soul put it in the English subtitles.
I have epilepsy but I missed the warning ... I know how to avoid it in cases like this (where lights get progressively faster) but it did weird me out that a kpop MV would make me close my eyes :O

@@grey.mirage You know, I'm not sure. I've seen both, like I've seen some where they were definitely added by fans. You might be right though, the warning isn't in all captions for all languages but it does have English, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese. 🤔

dont listen to that person, if ur friend is photosensitive epileptic with seizing, i wouldn’t risk it at all (i have an epileptic family member). even slowed down, the brightness is still flashing pretty quickly

I think one of the reasons it's edited like this is so you don't catch everything at once and absorb something new with every watch. Yeah it's daring to edit it like this cause it's not for everyone so I hope they release a more comfortable version for people who can't watch this but this is still a valid artistic choice

good concept, I understand what the editor was going for... perfectly fits the Virtual feel, the screen door effects, the old tv effects, pictures popping in and out... love it. might be a bit excessive but love it!
I think the main issue is that the camera shots/framing and the position all the girls are in throughout the different scenes that keep being switched between are all very different which makes it feel abit jarring/your eyes are darting everywhere to try and keep track of what's going on instead of being able to focus on one area of the screen. Results in a bit of vertigo/sickness/visual overload (in a bad way). Needs to be more flow. But apart from that I love it. And yeah the concept behind this video was definitely giving life flashing before your eyes vibes.
I also understand what the editor was going for, but I think if they used a lot of match-cuts in this mv instead of a jarring amount of straight cuts (I do love the straight cuts don't get me wrong, but it's a bit overwhelming), it would have not only been not painful to watch, but also get the theme of distortion between virtual and reality across very effectively. Nevertheless, this mv and song is going to be my new obsession for the whole summer lol.

i actually love the mv so much, it’s so out of the norm from something you’d see with kpop! For me, the whole video was so captivating even if you’re not focusing on each individual frame. Each time I watch the video, the story comes together bit by bit, it’s so different and the girls look magical, like they’re in their elements!

Something about it just feels so warm and safe
It doesn't stand out too much but at the same time it doesn't feel bland or boring either. It's familiar, nostalgic, and effervescent. It feels safe, like the warmth you feel going home after a fun energy-filled day with your friends and looking at the sunset as you walk back home. It's that exact feeling.

I was initially unable to look at all because it felt like eye overload, but after a while I kind of lost focus and just looked hypnotically in the center of the screen, and that's when I realized that life imitates art.

Saw someone's suggested that the editing may have been done this way because of the concept: you can't look long at divine and angelic creatures as they are extraterrestrial and your eyes would hurt because their glow is too bright, or you start tripping when you look at them. It may explain:
1:47 people are blind(?) and then their eyes start to change when they look at the sky
2:36 when they are dancing on the roof their images are very bright and imperceptible to human vision and the girl that's watching them has to use video camera to make them more 'visible' (she's also looking at the camera's display, not directly at them, so she doesn't go blind). or it could be that they're not actually there and girl is seeing them only on camera because they are 'virtual'
2:11 'the sun will never win against me' kinda suggests that they are even brighter then the star itself, and the whole scenes when they dance on clouds suggest that 'you don't need the sun, be under us, we are better'
And overall the whole thing about girls with wings that are breaking cars, making a mess kinda looks like a cult that recruited the girl in the car at around 0:16
ps. I understand people's complaints though, the MV can be difficult to perceive
