A very timely selection for the past week and those coming. The date for this hymn is 1883 which is older than I thought. Written by the same man who wrote Showers of Blessings - Daniel Webster Whittle. He was an officer during the Civil War under General Sherman.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Kaleb! We sang this hymn at our conference today and it reminded me of an elderly sister in Christ who had always requested this hymn. And, ironically you had just posted it. The Lord is good!
More than once, as I've gotten older, I've realized some things I believed in the past were incorrect. But, I know if a person believes in God, you can say along with the Apostle Paul, I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded, that He is able, to keep that which I've committed, unto Him against that day. Sometimes life can get very hard. Very. But hold on to this truth that God is more than able to keep you and hold on to that and don't ever doubt it.
That’s why I’m suffering the way I am. But I’m not ashamed. I know the One I have believed in. I am sure he is able to take care of what I have given him. I can trust him with it until the day he returns as judge.❤
Love this hymn, and you play it so beautifully. So happy you're still putting out these videos. They are such a blessing!
Listened to this song with my step-dad the very night he went to sleep in Jesus.
Verse' 1
I know not God's
wondrous Grace
To me he hath made known
Nor why unworthy of
Such grace
He claimed my for his own
But I know whom
I have believed
And persuaded that he is able
To keep that which
I've Committed
unto him against that Day
Verse' 2
I know not how
this saving faith
To me he did impart,
Nor how believing in his word
Wrought peace within
My heart
But I know whom
I have believed
And persuaded
that he is able
To keep that which
I've Committed
unto him against that Day
Verse' 3
I know not how
The spirit moves
Convincing men of sin
Revealing Jesus
through the word
Creating faith in him
But I know whom
I have believed
And persuaded
that he is able
To keep that which
I've Committed
unto him against that Day
Verse' 4
I know not what of good or I'll
May be reserved for me,
Of weary ways or golden days
Before his face l see
But I know whom
I have believed
And persuaded
that he is able
To keep that which
I've Committed Unto him against that Day
Verse' 5
I know not when my
Lord May come
at night or noonday Fair
Nor if I walk the Vale with him
Or meet him in the Air
But I know whom
I have believed
And persuaded
that he is able
To keep that which
I've Committed
Unto him against that Day

Sometimes we make things like faith to complicated when it’s best to keep it simple
❤
❤❤❤❤❤played so beautifully ❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful ❤️❤️😊
Interesting. Every time I’ve seen this one in a hymnal, it’s in the key of E-flat.
But you play it in the key of C. Any reason?
👍
