The reason the heavy didn't die here was probably because Monkey trapped his feet, and because TF2 only detonates enough stickies to kill a demoman in the case that he would die from his own trap, the ones set on the door simply vanish into thin air without doing any damage.

The same thing happens to the Scottish Resistance demo at 17:56, while he was aiming at stickies you can _just_ barely make fizzling out a second later, it also detonates stickies underneath the user, and... well, you saw what he was standing on. Two instances of the same mechanic in a short timeframe, from two different perspectives. Neat.

To be fair though, the missing texture war paint in the bottom left or the dead center is probably the best the paint could possibly look. Still garish and against the artsyle, but it’d be a funny reference.
