I currently own the pre - facelift model and as you said, it is not a revolution but it didn't need to be. Classic styling and a great interior.
Excellent review Thomas. For me in the UK with our speed limits I would go for the A6 3.0 TDI. With the S6 I would not be able to keep my driving licence.

I just recently purchased the 2017 Audi S6 and i am very happy! I traded my 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 and while they are completely different cars...I was ready to move to something a little more grown up. Love my new S6 and may be hooked on Audi for life!

Comfort is most important but the car needs space and respectable performance. I saw your review of the golf all track and you commented on its comfort - could a car that size be as comfortable? I have the 2014 Audi A7 Prestige fully loaded with night vision. Was looking at the new 2016 Audi S6 and was not sure if i want to get switch cars. Love both but my A7 is just too unique. Please help ration my changes
Great review, I like the new full LED light system, it gives a sharper look to the car. It is sad that neither the A6 Avant nor the full LED light system are available in Canada. I also like the growl of the V8 engine, but I assume that fuel consumption should be in the neighborhood of 14-15 lt/km.

I'm curious about how you feel the A6 face lift compares to the 2015 Volvo S60 ts utilizing both tibo and supercharger technology. Also, you didn't cover much of the safety technologies. About safety on the A6, you basically get everyone safety feature you can imagine, but they are all optional. You can get the adaptive cruise control with now stop and go feature, lane change assistant, lane keeping assistant, night view assistant, emergny brake assisant as well as head-up-display

The RS6 is obviously going to be much faster and quicker, but what about the actual driving dynamics between the two; steering response, ride quality, braking, etc.? I want to upgrade from our S4 to an S6. Since we don't get the RS6 here in the States (and I don't like station wagons), I'm curious about what we're missing out on by not having access to the RS6.
Coming up with nothing on your channel with a direct comparison of the two in the same video other than the Audi B-roll footage of the RS, S, and A, and that video has no commentary.

Autogefühl indeed I have, but I'm not sure. on the one hand, the S6 has been out longer, so hopefully most of any gremlins have been sorted which is not necessarily something one can say of a new vehicle. however, the S4 is a slightly smaller car, so is possibly dynamically superior. Not that I have proof.

Arnel Mendoza You're welcome! Let's see, the previous generations of the A6 were around for 7 and 8 years. This generation is underway since 2011. So I suppose the new generation will come 2017 or 2018. They wouldnt have done the facelift now if there would be a new generation soon. Plus even "all-new" cars are also not magic but just a new car where not everything has really changed. I dont think there is a reason not to buy the car now, the most important thing is that you get one with all the features you want to have.

I have been waiting to buy an A6 for few months, since I heard that the facelift is coming. I live in the USA, and I have heard that it will not be coming in the market here anytime soon. Is that True? Do you have any knowledge on when it would be available in the US market? If it's going to be too long, I will have to go for the 528i, which is not my first preference.

CampingShadowComplex An usual life cycle is at 7 years nowadays. Both A6 and A7 are from 2010 bascially, so 2017 should work. But until you can buy it and maybe get a hardly used car or whatever, it will take some time. Also depending on your market. Being in the US, you have to wait half a year longer. I would say: Its not always good to buy the all-new cars in the first year, quite often it can be a good pick to buy a well developed car - unless you totally disagree with something on the old one (e.g. design) and love the new one or smth.

Audi A6 C6 CVT gearbox failed unexpectedly. Lesson Learnt - German cars are unreliable, expensive and not worth their market value. For the price of a new CVT or repairs, I bought a Japanese car and can bet the house it will outperform and return a better return on investment.

whoever calls the 4.0 twin turbo v8 an AUDI/VW engine is either a fake enthusiast or just doesn't know anything about GM cars. audi took the oldsmobile engine and put it in the s6, s7, rs6 and rs7. what a pos engine en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northstar_engine_series#L47
and really, the 4.0 engine is just a damn modded oldsmobile aurora engine left in someone's private ass junk yard till VW stole it for its hi-po sedans. gm is great but stealing someone's old engines from their junk yards is not ok

I've heard on audi boards that you should be able to order the updated A6 in the U.S. soon, with delivery this spring.
A6 better for a daily driver. Newer 3.0 horsepower is been increased, v8 discontinued. Not needed

I heard that the next gen all new A6/7 S6/7 is coming in 2017, is that true?
If so, should I buy this facelift or just waiting for the next gen? Thank you
CampingShadowComplex An usual life cycle is at 7 years nowadays. Both A6 and A7 are from 2010 bascially, so 2017 should work. But until you can buy it and maybe get a hardly used car or whatever, it will take some time. Also depending on your market. Being in the US, you have to wait half a year longer. I would say: Its not always good to buy the all-new cars in the first year, quite often it can be a good pick to buy a well developed car - unless you totally disagree with something on the old one (e.g. design) and love the new one or smth.
The new shape will appear after 2017 so maybe mid 2018 there would be new shape for a6 a7 a8 more likely and there would be new a4 maybe next year.
Double price but double pleasure;)) i go for S6 ,but very very nice interior better than BMW and Mercedes and exterior of course:)

hey, both are quiet, but A6 is one segment above and they have more money for that, so A6 is even quieter

Passat looks to be the better option but i would go for the 3.0tdi a4 or the S4 if i had the money

Warum in englisch?!?!? Und nicht in deutsch??? Es gibt keinen einzigen guten Test, der den A6 genau beschreibt. Habe schon alles geguckt, und keins davon war gut! In Zukunft kannst du ja die Tests in 2 Sprachen machen.
Wir arbeiten schon 24/7 mit 10 Leuten, doppelt produzieren ist zeitlich nicht möglich, und will auch niemand bezahlen. Das ginge nur, wenn genügend deutsche monatlich was spenden wollen würden dafür. The facelift looks nice on the A6 except the rims. On the A7 it just looks plain ugly IMO. What's your opinion?

Audi A6 C6 CVT gearbox failed unexpectedly. Lesson Learnt - German cars are unreliable, expensive and not worth their market value. For the price of a new CVT or repairs, I bought a Japanese car and can bet the house it will outperform and return a better return on investment.

***** Naja, ich will dem Ganzen so nicht ganz zustimmen. Ich meine, wir sprechen z. B. englische Woerter auch nicht auf Deutsch aus oder? Fuer mich wird Audi ueberall gleich ausgesprochen :D. Wie auch immer, ich kritisiere hier Kleinigkeiten. Wollte ansonsten die gute Kamerarbeit und die detaillreiche Darstellung der Autos loben. Weiter so! :)

and really, the 4.0 engine is just a damn modded oldsmobile aurora engine left in someone's private ass junk yard till VW stole it for its hi-po sedans. gm is great but stealing someone's old engines from their junk yards is not ok
