I think the sad thing is that it definitely is functionally betrayal, but I don't believe that he knew exactly the full extent of what his actions were inflicting. At some point he probably just stopped keeping track of the money he was spending and thought he could get away with it... so he just figured everything was fine. Sucks that he had to the learn the hard way actions have consequences, especially when it is such a substantial ignorance
@@CalebRazzleberry nah he knew the full extent of what he was doing from the beginning. if you look at the graph tracking the expenses he charged- he started off with small purchases initially, then very quickly ramped them up once he figured he wouldn't get caught and never slowed down. he likely didn't realize it had reached anywhere near $60,000 but he was charging the card for most of his daily personal expenses by the end so he had to know he was going too far and just felt like he was in too deep to stop. people are taught in early childhood that stealing is wrong and matt and ryan were supposed to be some of his best friends, i really don't think we should make excuses for a grown man who stole the equivalent of an average american's yearly salary.
