I believe the upland bird and squirrel season has started in Wisconsin. Can't be too safe when it comes to riding in the midwestern woods in the fall. Of course, you have to love the flowy, lomey trails and riding under the forest canopy! I'm from MN and also living in AZ, and I try to get back to MN as often as I can to get out of the heat, sun and rocky trails. It's even better as the fall leaf colors hit their peak! Bells, loud colored shirt, music etc are all a must at this time of year. When in doubt give a shout to let them know you’re there. I hate hunting season.
Welcome back! Fall and hunting season is here. Many trails in Maine abut or are in areas where hunting is allowed. Hunter orange/bright colors Mon-Sat is a must in these areas. However, if hunting, I wouldn't want to set up on a trail where hikers, bikers and walkers would spook the game I am after.
I have a BRIGHT yellow Fox helmet, yellow vest and jacket and bike pack for fall riding in the forested crown land I live beside. And I let my front brake make as much noise as a city bus outside your hotel room at 5 am!
@kenetics1344 Yeah, the Saturday before last (Sept 21). I have never hunted, and don't know anything about the different seasons and rules. Just thought it was a bit sketchy to have someone hunting that close to, or literally on, a popular trail frequently used by bikers and hikers.
Believe me I have a lake house about 8 miles from this trail head and hunting season has certainly started. I believe turkey season runs mid Sep -late Nov, but there are tons of hunters out over the last 2-3 weeks. Be very careful the next few weeks the youth rifle season starts for Deer hunting this weekend those kids have itchy trigger fingers....

Glad to see a new video! I've had some run-ins with hunters myself. Diggin' the lush greenery of that part of the country.

Same trail a few years ago, guy told me to wear orange, but those are good trails to get some flow
