to be really honest, WayV discography is the best among all NCT units.. its so good bcs it sounds WAYV you know what i mean? like WayV has found their sound and they do it so good. their songs are just amazing, so cohesive, the lyrics is great and production is top tier! love love love it

Already at your Only Human reaction and I just wanted to inform you about how Hendery and Yangyang actually participated in composing and writing the lyrics for this song in particular! Both of them have also done it for a few other WayV songs--Hendery also participated in lyric writing for NCT 2021's Beautiful, his first time writing for NCT and not his own unit actually. Makes me so proud of my HenYang ❤️
i feel like the chinese language is so poetic from these translations, it's so beautiful
It really is! Sometimes English doesn’t translate it as well as the actual meaning in Chinese, but these lyric videos are trying their best. WayV always has something profound in their b-sides
Chinese language is very concise and rich at the same time. A typical Chinese poem only has 4 sentences, each sentence containing either 5 characters (if it's a 5-character quatrain) or 7 characters (if it's a 7-character quatrain). I think that's why it's so easy to write poetic lyrics in Chinese songs. You only need very few words to convey very deep meanings in great detail.
I learned Chinese for 6 month in college. And you can learn grammar and characters like pretty easily if you have guidance. BUT, grasping the poetic feeling of some words is like .. a hard core trial. A very fun one but a hard one. Chinese is like trying to find the end of a bottomless well.
Many languages are like this but Chinese particularly blew my mind. :D
They actually are very proud of Only human, because not only Hendery and Yang yang wrote part of the lyrics, but Kun and Xiaojun are in the back vocals in the chorus

Unbreakable is probably one of the best songs ever made, I don't make the rules.
I always tell people that they need to listen to b-sides before judging line distribution for SM boy groups. Their title tracks are always soooo high, anyone lower than a tenor will be rapping. The rest of their albums or EPs will typically use everyone though. They'll play around with everyone's intensity and timbre. I think Winwin is definitely good fit in WayV's deeper voices.
Agree with you. These days so many people only listen to their title track, and became fans of the song, then judging about how unfair the line distributin is. I always wanna say, just listen to their album people! You'll be focus on their production & voices & quality even more. Set aside their visual (we know how it get us murdered) their talent are also amazing.
@@meandwoodenchair Also guess what??? You know who's holding down the bottom of those harmonies??? Every SM rapper! They don't just hang out and look pretty until their verse comes in lol.
I also think Winwin fits better with WayV than NCT 127, because 127 has two very skilled baritone singers Jaehyun and Yuta, and four very strong tenors (taeil/doyoung/haechan/jungwoo), so it makes sense that 127's songs are generally higher than WayV's songs.
Even when there are some lower lines, it makes more sense to give them to Jaehyun and Yuta, because they're such strong vocalists. So Winwin (and Johnny) always ends up with very few lines, and some little rap here and there.
But in WayV, because almost half of the members are baritones, Winwin can fit right in with Hendery and Lucas to sing a lot of lower lines. Xiaojun/Kun/Ten can do belting and harmony, but their lower register is also pretty strong. Yangyang can also sing high and low. It's a very versatile and balanced vocal team.
@@HanQ28 Lucas and Winwin really complement each other's voices and rapping tones. SM also loves to have a harmonic(?) rap duo i.e. a high rapping tone and a lower one splitting the raps.
Also, Winwin's style is more fluid like Ten's. The choreo fits him better too.
WayV definitely has the overall best b-sides among the units...just insanity this album especially unbreakable and domino
Oh shit. Yangyang always kill his rap part. Always put soul to his line. And his energy always match whatever type of song.
Also yeah, Hendery rap is good too. He's my bias wrecker.

I think Hendery and Yangyang's singing voices can sound pretty similar (especially with the vocal filters in the studio production), but 17:11 sounds like Yangyang's accent. They have very different Mandarin accents, and I just feel like Hendery wouldn't pronounce those words like that. It sounds much more like Yangyang's usual way of speaking.

After Midnight it's one of my favorites NCT bsides of all units. The whole album overall it's one of their best, top 3 NCT full albums for me.
I was also so shocked the first time I heard this full album. I kept hearing Wayv’s whole discography is masterpiece, but I never believe it until I listened to them all by myself
I'll be checking out this album with you in this reaction! It feels like discovering music with a friend 😊 I like NCT a lot but haven't dive into WayV yet, so I'm excited to finally check out their b-sides.

"Unbreakable" is one of my favorite WayV songs! Especially since it's part of the "Say It" trilogy ( which is "Say It" "Comeback" and "Unbreakable" that also has a kind of epilogue and part 4 with "All for Love") I love you reaction to this! That "holding on" still has me shook years later!
Hendery is an amazing rapper! Hendery and Taeyong are my favorite rappers, I just love their flow!

Yeah, the interludes serves to connect NCT to their overall story and to each other, and also gives us bomb as dance performances.
"Only Human" is soo good! Like Hendery and YangYang co-writing is amazing! Also, if you like these four together, I would definitely recommend "King of Hearts"

One thing that I love about WayV, it's the fact that all of them are vocalist, it makes me sad that we can't see this a lot. And maybe you would like to know that Hendery and Yangyang helped to write some of WayV songs, including Only Human. And thank you for apreciate Hendery.

I agree about Hendery. He's so underrated, and deserves all the possible spotlight; his flow is unique and fascinating, and also he's improving each time. I'm not so into NCT any more, but I have to agree that he's special, and it always catches my attention.
The Interludes and Preludes etc. are almost always just instrumental, which is why there are no lyric Videos. They are really great for the flow of the Album when it transitions especially in Resonance and Regular- Irregular (127 Album)! I always listen to them as a whole, because its an experiance in my opinion! I would recommend you listen to everything if you do Regular-Irregular in the future and do the songs of the repackage Regulate afterwards, because they really messed up the flow of the Album with them even tho they are great songs! 😅

After Midnight is really that song! It’s one of my favorite wayv song
yangyang and hendery write their verses a lot of the time. they wrote in only human and electric hearts i think. its a shame we didn't get to hear much of their lyrics in universe album because ofc korean isn't their first language..yangyang did say he wrote for new axis and recorded his version but decided to go with the other lyrics. its sad because i think both of them are so good with lyrics they're really beautiful and totally different style from other kpop idols

I think the reason why we like seeing interlude reactions is because they are SUPER important to the album flow. They create a transition in the album, whether it be lyrically in the storytelling or sonically. Nct interludes tend to be instrumentals only so they really contribute to the listening experience and overall atmosphere of the album. (Also, they make callbacks to previous songs, comebacks or nct’s concept/recurring motifs, like the drop sound right at the beginning of this interlude that is heard in most nct teasers for year projects aka 2020 and 2021, most nctzens always recognise it)
