Yea, the whole 3-piece band thing is one of the many things that makes this band great I think. Pete Loeffler is very talented to be able to have a clean leodic voice and play guitar decently. The band has very loud bass to make up for volume and Sam has a unique style of drumming that works well with everything.
Maybe they just want to deal with less tuning changes in between songs. It could also be that they just like B for that specific song now. Certain songs sound better in different tunings to musicians after awhile. Hope this helped
Pete started using non-baritone guitars on stage. His custom-made PRS Guitars were like 27 - 28'' baritones which he prefers for tuning down to A#. But when he switched to Fender, he only briefly used his custom-shop Subsonic Strats on stage, but then switched to using standard 25.5'' scale Strats. He says he can work with Drop B on a standard-scale Strat. He probably didnt want to use his Sub-Sonic Baritones on stage because they're extremely, extremely rare and expensive to find.

You're exacly right. I think he was not a big fan of touring either. It got so bad sometimes that they would never even see or talk to Joe unless it was on stage. But i'm really excited about this new guy. He seems pretty awesome!
This one isn't from a DVD. There is a DVD they made however, it's called live from the norva. Get it! It's just as good as any other performance they have done.

What's weird and crazy is that alot of the band's I like , suck live, korn, deftones, disturbed, etc. But chevelle actually sounds like their albums when they play live so that's cool
@jpergram Couldn't have said it better myself. I have always been amazed by Chevelle, lyrically, musically, live, and on a personal level. I met Pete, Dean, and Sam at a show in Raleigh in April, the most down to earth guys I've met.
