As a Notre Dame fan , lots of people give me crap about not being in a conference. I ask them, do you think Notre Dame has an advantage being independent? No one will answer the question because the answer is no advantage , so what is the complaint? If they yes it is an advantage then why are more schools not doing it? Sc fans say that all the time but the big 10 pays more to them than nd gets from the tv contract with nbc, with one loss to any team we might not make it in the playoffs, but teams in the big 10 and sec with two loses will make it in! How is that an advantage to be independent? Lane should try to go independent if he feels that way, he needs a diaper change, big cry baby
Very strong win versus Army last night. They know how to stop the option offense, so cannot say I was surprised. They have the independent advantage to the extent that they don't have to share revenues with anybody and don't have to play in a conference championship game. De facto member of ACC but not really enough upside for them to join when they have leverage. Ironic how you talked about Lane too. Poor timing on his front talking about the SEC Championship game when they are now eliminated from the CFB Playoff with the third loss.
