Unfortunately that the deceased person had to take this step due to false allegations and 376 threats. Before everyone starts blaming "too much liberty to women" we need to understand women safety in India is a major issue and lenient laws are introduced so women come forward to fight but sadly the mechanism which ensures fair trial itself is rusted. Police themselves and in this case too went to sleep mode and did not even registered complaint nor investigated. If police registered fir and investigated matter thoroughly, I am 100% sure no one will be able misuse these laws. But police will continue to sleep and some women will continue to misuse laws and some patriarchal men will continue to blame all women. Viscous cycle continues.
