I start questioning and having doubts for those questions were unanswered. If there is a god. He is selfish. A sadist , narcissist. Ego manic, cruel . Obviously there is not a god, so I could go on and on.... All this suffering. Hunger cruelty , hatred and selfish behaviour for what??? Think that 50 cents can save a child's life, but what. Millions dies. The constant murder, rape . The slave trade. The colonial period. Neocolonial movement. The constant use and abuse of my mother land "AFRICA" . And you want me to believe in something that man created between Europe and the middle East? I meant the 3 monotheist religions. Judaism. Christianity and Islam.

If the bible was perfectly true just like its purpoted writer it should allow to be critiqued and tested the same way scientist come with medicines that are tested to come up with curative aspects and side effects for us to chose but because its pure lies it cant allow that.

That preacher is a Christian Apologist and is talking a lot of blabber. Isn't it interesting that lately, a lot of Bible scholars and professors are abandoning Christianity after having studied the subject to doctorate level? Their testimonies can be found on a TH-cam channel called Mythvision. One thing that struck me is their general consensus that hermeneutics is basically B.S. and mere fallacies that are not based on fact, but employing lots of literature whose purpose is to confuse those who challenge the faith.

The truth is not dependent on belief. The fact that you posted this comment doesn't change because you believe or disbelieve so. You posted the comment and that's all. The fact that you have grand fathers you may not have met does not and cannot change because you believe or disbelieve so. Belief is basically a mind manipulation tool meant to achieve a certain effect on the person the belief is targeted. Just learn to distinguish between good and evil, right and wrong and you will be good. Guard yourself from this belief thing!!

What the pastor is saying is that just because people accepted slavery long time ago, God compromised his principles becouse that's what people were doing? That shows how weak God is, he's controlled by what people do at what time.

All one need to accept is that every book is 70% the cultural political socio environment it is set in then the 30% is the message. The bible is 70% Jewish and Arab culture.

Faith shows the "reality"....wrong. Faith shows wishful thinking, which may or may not be reality. In other words, faith is not a reliable path to truth, so cannot be a reliable pathway to reality.

I believe and have faith in my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who was sent by God for the atonement of sins. To help you see a little on the existence of God, look at creation. And also, unfortunately, look at who secular artists mock. Why don't they mock Islam or Buddhism.They mock because they want to grieve God to anger coz the one they pledge allegiance to asks them to do so because he himself (devil) knows the truth.

As a christian I think both parties lack important knowledge on the truth. The pastor does not fully satisfy the questions asked while the Athiest holds a wrong belief about God and the bible without a good basis for his views. More can be done to look into the issues raised. Most of the answers have already been answered by Christian apologetics. From slavery & women to morality, all questions asked have been answered. The pastor needs to do more research on these issues. Finally, Athiests do not have a basis upon which they can base their morality since morality can only be defined by a higher standard than us. It is hypocritical to not believe in God but use His standards to judge Him.

The notion that certain biblical passages were only meant for particular churches/time is ridiculous. They selectively choose what passages to restrict geographically and temporally. I never hear tithes confined to the Israel .

When starting a priesthood journey you could end up an atheist or a priest and i understand where he is coming from if you don't receive the help of the Holy Spirit in demystifying the word. That's why he is interpreting the "Women should be silent in church" literally.
Bible context means a peaceful and quiet life.. This means women need to pray for a peaceable and a quite demeanor instead of being argumentive, we all know women can cause drama from here to timbuktu..
2nd women need to learn with submissiveness, literally just bringing order in terms of leadership at that time between women and men. Men were perceived with high regard at that time.
He sounds angry with God as well, may the Holy Spirit purge him of that anger of not understanding his word.
There should be a purpose for everything! Paul told Timothy to take some alcohol to lessen the pain, this means if Timothy had no pain then alcohol would have been abused (abnormally used).

Old Testament was to teach and help us to also understand the Grace that we have received in the New Testament.God said ask the Holy Spirit for understanding if you need understanding but not your knowledge.Because the Bible says Gods foolishness is our wisdom so how much wisdom can I get if you seek the understanding by asking the Holy Spirit to help you get understanding and revelation.

"hermeneutics" says the pastor. He is making excuses. People interpret the bible is infinite, different, ways. The pastor went to bible school where they teach him how THEY want him to understand the scriptures. The fact that he needed to go to a school to learn about the bible is simply problematic. Just for his slavery argument he is wrong. The fact that scriptures give standards for how and when to have slavery means that he supported it. It also shows that human beings created the bible. The pastor's argument also seems to indicate that none of the bible applies to us today? IN THOSE DAYS.... he says. Unconvincing from him. Nothing new from him... YOU DON'T MAKE A DOCTRINE OUT OF ONE SINGLE VERSE... Christian churches do it ALL THE TIME.

Unfortunately he is facing a religious bigot who is purporting to know god and what god wants. It is sad that he can casually say that he knows Moses wrote Genesis, when in actual fact Moses does not make such a claim in the book of Genesis, nor does he sign anywhere in the book. Simply reading somewhere that someone did something doesn't make that a fact. The best that can be argued is that you know that someone wrote whatever you just asserted. In any case this preacher never demonstrated that the bible is not a book of fiction as stated by the atheist!!

Laws given to humans are of different kinds. There are positive laws, limited in their application to a certain time or place. As an example, laws regulating temple worship were limited to the Jewish nation and to the time of the Old Testament. These laws fit the needs and circumstances of particular times and places.
On the other hand, there is the moral law that applies to all people at all times and does not change with conditions. Examples are concepts such as justice, truth and love. Moral law cannot be changed or laid aside.
For us now, we live under the new covenant of Christ. Jesus interprets the laws for us. So i challenge us to just study the gospels -Matthew , Mark , Luke and John -they contain Jesus interpretations. After that, tells us if there is any bad/wrongs found in Christ teachings.
