Relax. It's all staged. He's supposed to play the bad round eye trying to upstage the arts. Notice multiple angles. That means doing the movements multiple times. And if you watched closely (well, not really) you can see that the movements were slow and not executed at 100%.
Oh Eric and Lei Lei, please come to Lumpinee and fight the Muay Thai competitors there. You can even use your chi to fly to avoid sweeps.

Isn't this the same guy that Xu beat up? Also sorry, I know this supposedly titled experiencing real kung fu but compared to other Taichi sparring I've seen involving with fists, I am not even sure what's supposed to be happening. Like it seems to me this eric dude (who I'm assuming is the uploader) isn't using any other attacks other than just the downward strike. It feels kinda compliant as there is a lot of waiting and hitting guarded areas as opposed to vulnerable spots like the head. Even if it was supposed to be light, I'm just confused why there aren't any other varied attacks assuming this isn't just to make Lei Lei look good. Heck in fact, where are the takedowns? the grappling? those are a part of Tai Chi and so far it's mostly just "blocking", "striking" and pushing.
I guess the closest thing that seem non compliant is with the umbrella and sword but even then might be a combination of not having any protective gear and being careful not to hurt each other since they are both blunt. It would've helped if they did have the gear and maybe add slightly more commitment.

the episodes about tai ji quad styles and masters are really interesting, your putonghua is very impressing, but without being rude or the intent to be offending: your shown fighting skills are not. You spread your fingers like a kid trying to play kung fu, so every blow or kick would break your fingers in a real combat, you telegraph all your blows by drawing back the arms first, so it would be easy to react. let alone the helpless kicks or the faked fight with the thai-boxing guy. Nonetheless thanks a lot for the interesting video
That one hand whip of yours against the first fighter muay thai boxer ring guy, wasn't bad. Your time of impact or impulse was rather long, which is what people use when converting implosion effects into a push effect. However, the damage dealt was most likely because your left hand was still being fed energy by his thigh and momentum, thus he could not back away and dissipate the force. Also external martial artists will tend to grip and tighten their abdomen when doing techniques, thus even if your palm is on the lower abdomen, the force itself can spike and hit the solar plexus, which is what it looks like the damage was primarily at, to get that reaction.
As an internal artist gets higher in skill, their healing abilities will also grow as their knowledge and usage of energy, vibration, chi, or prana accelerates. Thus in the future, it is possible to inflict damage and then to heal the damage on the spot. A lot of people who use internal neijia arts, are often surprised at the results because it did not feel like they were doing much. That is exactly when the energy flow is at least resistance.

I'm not knocking traditional Kung Fu at all, but as a 12 year Muay Thai vet, once Eric accepted that challenge all confident with seemingly low knowledge of what is involved, I was like Jesus save this poor soul. Muay Thai (depending on style and region) can be really savage and even in organized ring fights, deaths are not uncommon. Seen it happen, almost made it happen once myself too when I got too aggressive. Glad these guys were being cool and Eric handled himself well
The only reason they have to fake this video is because none of the actors can last 1 round if they did it for real
