    Good job to everyone except the driver of that snow truck who was clearly asleep at the wheel.

    I imagine you filmed some sequences using a drone.
    Around 5:17, I was wondering if the exhaust pipe from the truck would affect the stability of the drone.
    Very impressive shots of the snowblower, congratulations. I give you an Oscar for this video.

      Chances are the driver wasn't accelerating so the engine wasn't under any load to be blowing much

      Неплохо, только улица пустая, с нашим трафиком и неуправляемыми припаркованными машинами, такое трудно представить.
      У нас упор на ручной труд, здесь в основном машинный.

    Just like milling up asphalt. The truck needs to watch his mirrors and adjust for spill over. Maybe the operator can tell the trucker with a CB radio where to position. Great snow removal though.

    Somebody needs to teach the blower operator how to blow snow. He dumped almost as much on the street as he did in the truck.

      I see your a pro. why don't you apply for the job no it all. the streets look better than before. if you spend to much time being ridiculously anal the rest of the streets wouldn't get done. BTW I spend 30+ years snow removal and operated everything. Be grateful there doing what they are doing . alot of money goes into snow removal.

  • @jonathanlanglois2742

    The way they do things in Sherbrooke is so much simpler. They push it against the sidewalk for a few snowfall until there is enough accumulated and then send in the snow blower. Pushing it in middle of the streets serves no use. It just smears snow all over the road. At the end of the day, it is the tax payer that is paying for this rigmarole.

    • @Thesnowblower
      @Thesnowblower  ปีที่แล้ว

      We need room to park the cars

    • @jonathanlanglois2742
      @jonathanlanglois2742 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Thesnowblower I don't see how pushing snow in the middle of the street does anything to help with that. You still need to get your car off the street for the snow clearing operations.

    • @Thesnowblower
      @Thesnowblower  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jonathan Langlois i think it’s because after a week of cars parking in and out the snow gets packed and hard like ice, so they need to scrape it off with the loader or the grader. The snow blower would not make a good job at scraping the hard pack. But sometimes they do like you said they just make a pass with the snow blower if the snow is still fluffy

    • @jonathanlanglois2742
      @jonathanlanglois2742 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Thesnowblower By the time Sherbrooke goes around to go by with the snow blower, the snow pile has often been there for 2 or even 3 weeks. Like I said, they let it sit there for a few snowfalls and accumulate. I don't know what kind of snow blowers Montreal uses, but I can assure you that the ones we've got in Sherbrooke go through hard pack like it wasn't there.
      Part of it might be the way that Sherbrooke compresses the snow bank after each snowfall. It reduces the volume of the snow piles, but it also breaks up some of the ice. It also leaves the snow pile in a good position for snow removal operations. The pattern seems to be that they do a quick cleaning pass on the night of the storm, and then a more thorough cleaning pass the night after. As a result, we often end up having to shovel the end of our driveways twice.
