Some suggestions from a local: If you haven't been to Balboa Park, it's very nice and has three museums that are fun to see: an art museum, an Aeronautical museum and a space theater and science center. It's worth an Uber from the area where you filmed this video.
And the weekly organ recitals. BTW San Diego has decent public transportation. I think that you can buy a reloadable MTS card in a vending machine at the airport and load some fare on it (I am old school and have a card that I keep just for trips there). think that they also have a fare app that you can load on your phone. In addition to Balboa Park, my personal favorite is to head out to Pacific Beach and walk the bike path and watch the people and the surfers. Stop at Kono's for a breakfast that should keep you from commenting about how hungry you are (I've had to scale back to the small breakfast). Sunshine and cooler ocean temperatures work wonders. Please have compassion for your passengers who had to leave San Diego and fly to Sacramento. We're in the early stages of a heat wave that is going to last about 13 days (little to no onshore flow too cool things overnight). Joan Didion referred to this as "...when the heat settles in like an affliction..." We haven't had one of these in a while and people are needing to remember how to cope when everybody is a bit cranky because nobody in town has slept well for two weeks.
Yeah, I’m not into the Fourth of July. Either scares the hell out of my dogs. I have to get them drugs to calm them down. I don’t like what’s going on in our country right now either. But it could be 1 million times worse if somebody gets in we don’t want a king .
It’s one of my pet peeves when people ignore any sort of service worker. How hard is it to be polite to someone - even if you’re having a rough day a “hi” isn’t hard to do. You’re really making me want to play Baldur’s Gate. I’m a World of Warcraft player but we’re kind of in a lull until the next expansion comes out at the end of next month, so I’m thinking that would be a good game to hold me over.

The women you encountered were just hilarious. Maybe if you are lucky you will get to fly with them someday. I am 67 & want to have a "retirement career", to do something different & I love a challenge, so am going to Flight Attendant Training School in September in hopes of a hire w/ a Regional Airline & then attend their Training Program...Ur videos have made me very excited to attempt this new adventure. You work so hard! Lived in Carlsbad 30 years…(best strawberries ever!!) San Diego…I’d recommend Balboa Park. Beautiful place to walk. Take a little lunch w you. The museum’s are wonderful. Nice options there. Beautiful architecture! I am so jealous! I’m In Stuckramento, I’ve probably mentioned (complained!) and HATE it. Yep SMF nothing around there. A few in-airport eateries. Those days of 5 turns omg all the boarding and disembarking! You are amazingly strong. Love the kitties!!!
What a nice captain you had! On my old charter our pilots were so nice. Some loved to chat during the long flights before their rest periods. Our crews were awesome! I kind of miss it. Five legs that is a lot! But a good crew is worth their weight in gold!

The zoo in San Diego is really something. The best deal is to buy an annual pass, especially if you're reasonably local like my wife and me. The fall and winter are, I think, the best time to go as the animals are active. A friend I went to high school with started there as a zoo tour bus driver and retired as one of their heads of Human Resources.
I am in San Diego, but all these years I have not been on the tour ships🤦🏼♀️ However, I’ve ridden the ship that goes around the harbor and over to Coronado. They have an Aerospace museum not far from the zoo. Not sure if that would interest you. I enjoyed your video! Also, your Captain sounds like a gem!

Steven, sorta lousy pairings you’re thinking for these short hops. So, maybe this will make you feel a tad better. Text from my late hubby’s sister said she and her son in law flew from CLT to SMF. Since she is familiar with my getting to go to training and not making it, she took a much more concerted perusal of the FAs on their routes as to safety demos and interactions with PAX. She said the FAS were very friendly and hospitable and she could tell they were well trained about everything they did. And the carrier was NK all the way. Am sure you have no non stop to SMF from CLT. Seems most likely routing would be CLT LAS connecting to LAS SMF. Any idea if an LAS crew would have worked either or both those legs? BTW, yes, Buddy was in the vlog intro and he had a short comment to offer before the scene shifted to the lot where you had the good fortune of an opportune parking slot. Take care, my friend. Herman
