I would prefer the NX 250 $71,000 drive away. The only issue is no spare and those terrible runflat tyres. If buying right now, Mazda CX5 GT SP 2.5 Turbo $58,000 drive away. 😊
Great review. How does the new Lexus LBX compare in size to the UX300e? The LBX looks amazing, but might be a tad underpowered until a hotter version comes available. One of the issues I see with some electric vehicles is that the degradation of current battery tech means you might only have 70-80% battery capacity and the longer you keep it the lower it goes theoretically which translates to very poor second hand car values after 3 years, for example. I hope hydrogen hits the mass market because I think this could be the future if fossil fuels arent.
Agreed it could be a lot better. The efficiency is poor, single motor drain very high for a small SUV/EV. Internal accomodation appears cramped, back set impossible. There’s only two of us here so that wouldn’t matter, but living regionally as I do, EV efficiency is a major factor to consider and is the reason I drive a Model 3 Long Range. What do Lexus service every ear I wonder? And why? Does regenerative braking work? There’s much to like, and much to dislike in this car. It’d be okay in the City, but a pain to own where In live I strongly suspect. Great and honest review as always, thanks for showing us this vehicle.
Charge time is slow but in typical Toyota/Lexus approach, they originally said this has to do with preserving the long term battery life to cover off their warranty period claim. Other than that, it's kinda outdated IMHO but it will retain the "new" feel for many years with minimal rattles inside (unlike some others).
Fantastic review again. beautifully appointed interior I personally don’t think it will age quickly.

Have bought the RZ450e, please do a review on it.

Sounds like a good all-round deal.
Whoever put the plastic oversized ostentatious wheel arch cladding need to be sacked.
Chademo Deal breaker.
For the price 50kwh charging speed is not acceptable at all - my MG ZS EV does 60 kWh and that is challenging enough on a road trip
Damn straight!!
They try to sell Chademo equipped car in EU? LOL
This is totally underwhelming.. Expensive, too small, poor DC fast charge specs although range is decent and it has decent dynamics.
BMW iX3 much nicer car. New Audi Q4 coming to Oz this 1/4. Both better looking cars with much more lux.
The interior looks way CHEAP plastic ... MG & BYD do it better.
I did not think so when i borrowed the pre-upgrade version. Very nice and comfortable
Nice review Matt. Lexus aren't what they used to be. Way too expensive, fake leather at the price point and a horrible cheap and tacky interior.
