I agree with you about Alex surviving - for a bit - because he was trying to be part of the new family made with the 'winner' of the game, Grace. If Grace had stayed with Alex, she would have been accepted as a new Le Domas (by accepting their evil ways), and the pact with Le Bail would have continued through the union of Alex and Grace. By her denouncing Alex and his family, and what they stood for, Alex was firmly placed on the losing team and blew up too. I like to think that the 'nod' from Le Bail was saying, "Well played," as she survived the night and also was free of the curse. RIP Daniel. Edit: Oh, and I think the cops/firefighters showed up because the neighbors called in the house fire. Justin was supposed to call the cops, but the family probably canceled that call. Just like the car was shut down, but the butler drove it after knocking out Grace. Someone with authorization had to get the car running again.
Mr. Le Bail is an anagram for Belial who is a demon/prince of hell/sometimes referred to as the Devil, the clue was in the name the whole time 😂 This is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite films!!! It was such a great flip on the common horror narratives/tropes. It also had a great comedic undertone. Just overall amazing
“I’m going to the front porch, leaving the ring there.” Nah, I’m taking the ring. I can sell it for good money. I deserve it for going through this. I think you should try out the horror movie You’re Next. It’s pretty good and it has a great Final Girl.
Omg as soon as I saw on my TH-cam page you did a video about this I GASPED like out loud. I love this movie it is truly such an underrated masterpiece, as you said the overall plot is kind of a given (she can't die until the end, one person tries to save her while the rest want to kill her) but it still manages to keep you on your toes. And that ending lmao. The first time I watched it I very loudly gasped and my mouth was open in shock for like a good two minutes haha. It is also one of the best works Samara Weaving (Grace) has ever done, and I like that it kind of reverses the roles of the part she usually plays, since she usually plays an unhinged psychopath herself, and is very good at doing so thanks to the psycho eyes (see The Babysitter on Netflix - btw please react to that as well it is in the same vein as this movie, gory comedic horror movie), but in this movie everyone BUT her is a psychopath lol. And also a reaction to Jennifer's Body would be great as well, again it's in the same ballpark as this movie and The Babysitter, very visual horror film but with comedic elements here and there, and also very iconic.
I still can’t get over the fact that this movie is on Disney Plus. I found out about that when i first watched it and found out that was one of the watch options 😭
The only confusion I have is the devil let them marry not so great people in terms of them being good at stuff.. And wants to kill the only one of the three that might be worth something... The devil wanted them to die out.
Love this movie I watched it with my my mother and father. It's a good movie. Alot of death. Funny scary cool badass and annoying annoying because of the stupid decisions that if it were not made things would be way better for the bride.

I watched this movie but fell asleep at the end and never tried to finish it so Im happy to be watching it with someone who can make me laugh 😂😂
