  • Hi welcome to my former Paradise In Cambodia Destroyed On Otres Beach Sihanoukville. It's a sad day for me going to Otres Beach in Sihanoukville, after having a holiday here in 2016 i have always had amazing memories of Otres and always thought of it as my paradise.
Sadly that is no more, due to corruption and the events of 2019/20 my paradise has being turned into a nightmare. All of the places that i had extremely fond memories of have been turned into rubble and replaced by empty shells that have been abandoned.
I hope you find my former Paradise In Cambodia Destroyed On Otres Beach Sihanoukville interesting and can join me on my next adventure in Cambodia. If so please Like, Subscribe and Share with anyone you think might be interested. Thank You.
If you would like to support my adventures in order to bring more content, your help would be greatly appreciated❤️

The entire beach area has been completely ruined thanks to some gready individuals. Just 10 years ago it was paradise.

Hi Richy, It's not possible to polish a turd! You're correct some Cambodian Officials have sold the people down the river! The Chinese were to build 60 Hotels/Casinos, mostly employing Chinese construction workers and solely for Chinese guests. In December 2018 I stayed for 2 days at Sahaa Beach Resort on Otres Beach, (which was great) luckily away from the town centre where their were fields full of dumped building materials. I had travelled from Siem Reap to Phnom Pehn and Kampot. I will never return. As if the Cambodian people haven't had enough shit to deal with!
    Best wishes from Bangkok.

Let this be a lesson to the precious Koh Rong island which is still thankfully stunning and untouched. Watch out for the Chinese they will pour concrete on it, have more awful casinos, karaokes and be slurping noodles all day as they avoid the sun.

hi Rich, i made a comment 8 days ago when you said you were looking forward to going to Sihanockville, if you get time mate have a read, in the comment i said you wouldn't recognise the place, agreed it is heart breaking. (Chinese and casinos) in a nutshell. If you need answer to why the buildings have been left, Google Evergrande property construction, yiu will see hol cities built that are empty, by the way this company is 40% of china's GDP ,it will explain alot, anyway Rich onwards and upwards mate ,all the best

i get that Rich, it is heartbreaking, unfortunately mate Thailand is also considering legalising gambling, (there not considering nothing)its a done deal.Tree town was built because they want to clean up beach road and walking street, basically push all the bars and clubs back from the beach area, (there's been talk about it for years ),there biggest problem is there's some big and very influential people that own these premises (the old guard) they can't be told you've got to go, but unfortunately over time the Chinese will fill up the brown envelopes and alas i can see beach road going the same way as sihanoukville, lets hope im wrong mate

@@RichardStephens-mp7rc hi mate, I didn’t mean to be a disrespectful. I just knew I would never say I was looking forward to going back to Snooks because I was dreading it. Pattaya could well go that way, I’ll be honest I’ll be extremely surprised if they do because Thailand have an extremely stable if not fast growing economy. They’re not struggling in any way. But you never know, If it does it will only be there as it’s a party city. I’ll eat my hat if they do though because I think personally that will never happen mate. The Chinese work their way with money into undeveloped countries like Cambodia with back handers, Thailand is definitely not like that. They are not struggling at all, time will tell Rich👍🏻

There must be a load of Squatters in these abandoned buildings. I know in BKK the emptt buildings near the tourist hot spots are full of them eg khosan building sites.. lot of fun talking to the squatters in them... unlike squatters in my own country... (they meet ppl like me😊).
Best have a beer mate before u go from Richy Parkinson to Rickety Parkinsons!
Just so you know they are not prawns. They look similar but they have very nasty 'blades' on the sides of the head. They do not taste the same as prawn but have a unique crustacean taste different from prawn crab crayfish and lobster.
They are nasty little things to handle live. I am unsure of their khmer name I am sorry as I only know them by the Thai and Aussie name. Aussie: Thumb Splitter.

@@ParkinsonRaw go and look at photos of Shenzhen in the year 2000, it looked a lot like Sihanoukville, look at it now... All this anti China narritive that we keep being exposed to is straight out of the CIA. They bombed the living daylights out of Cambodia, couped prince Sihanouk, replaced him with general Nul and then did this (note below) After that we in the West do not have the right to an opinon... Our leaders altered the History of the entire region, yet the powers allow us to forget and most dont even know, and yes this is all related because theyre trying to attack the Chinese of their own territory right now - Taiwan and SO CONCERNED about the Chinese rebuilding the nation! Everything we know or believe is the product of our own industry of endless War. This is why our popular beliefs and understanding focus on the superficial and short term view. Its also why we dont like our History...👇👇👇
      Operation Eagle Pull -12/04/1975
'Twelve helicopters, bristling with guns and U.S. Marines breached the morning horizon and began a daring descent toward Cambodia's besieged capital. Residents believed the Americans were rushing in to save them, but at the U.S Embassy, in a bleeding city about to die, the ambassador wept..."
"We'd accepted responsibility for Cambodia & then walked out without fulfilling our promise. That's the worst thing a country can do," he says in an interview in Paris. And I cried because I knew what was going to happen.'
      John Gunther Dean
      Former U.S Ambassador Phnom Penh
'Children and mothers scrambled over fences to watch. They cheered, clapped and waved to the 360 beefy, armed Marines. A Cambodian military policeman saluted Armstrong smartly. Disgusted and ashamed, he dropped his helmet and rifle, leaving them behind.
I tried to avoid looking into faces of the crowd. Always with me will be the children's little hands aflutter and their singsong "OK, Bye-bye, bye-bye."
By 12:15 the last helicopters landed on the deck of the USS Okinawa waiting off the Cambodian coast. Tactically, the 2 1/2-hour operation had been flawless.
In Phnom Penh , Douglas Sapper, an ex-Green Beret who stayed behind to save his company's employee, recalled the reaction of Cambodians who realised what had happened: "It was like telling a kid that Santa Claus was dead.'
The U.S Admin under Nixon & Kissinger knowingly gave rise to the Khmer Rouge.
But to add insult to injury, in the 1980's (after the genocide) then U.S President Ronald Reagan sent in the CIA and military units to covertly support and train the Khmer Rouge. When the heat in Central America got to hot for Reagan, fearing more bad press, he handed Cambodia off to the UK's Margaret Thatcher who did the same and supported the Khmer Rouge after they murdered over 3 million Khmer in peaceful Cambodia. 🇰🇭💙❤ DON'T THINK I'VE FORGOTTEN!

Local people want good road, economic development, better life.

    • @ParkinsonRaw
      @ParkinsonRaw  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

That might be true for some people but not all. Otres wasn’t that cheap. All of the locals I spoke to are absolutely mortified at what’s happened.
If you watched the vlog and think that is economic development you’re seriously mistaken. Also generalising all western people to be the same is extremely short minded. I appreciate the comment, everyone has their own opinions.
As far as the ladies go I haven’t been with one since I’ve been in Asia and nor would I pay to go with one. Please try and stay open minded as I do. I am extremely grateful to the Asian people for allowing me to visit their country and I show that in all of my vlogs.
