I got an Avalon TRD out the door full loaded with the JBL for 41k. Love it as its so different and the handling around the corners is where it shines the most. Very quick and the power is effortless! I still get stopped and looks from people admiring the car.
Avalon's are one of the if not the most reliable cars on the road. They last forever, have tons of room inside . This TRD looks fun to drive. With a killer freezing cold A/C can't beat it. But I'm digging the new Acura TLX models too.
The infotainment screen is much better designed and integrated in the ES dashboard. The one on Avalon is fugly to my eyes. Needless to say I purchased the ES300h and haven't look back.
The thing I like best about Joe’s reviews is that he shows every single aspect of the car. I feel like I don’t even need to experience the car in real life after watching his reviews. The car manufacturers and dealers definitely need to keep giving Joe all of these great cars to review. It is better than trying to read about them in the magazines.
We had ten years with a Prius. It was a joy to have more power with a 2.5L RAV4. We understand the Prius mindset. But, we could always use more power! Today, we saw this vehicle at a Toyota dealership. It is quite striking to look at. Thank you Raiti's Rides!
Hey Joe, after your first review, I had to see one in person. Drove it, and was shocked at the ride and power. I love how many attention to detail Touches this car has. I ended up trading in my GTI and bought one in ICE EDGE. The color is incredible. Sometimes it looks white, sometimes very light grey. Just a tiny Metallic sparkle. No photo shows the color well unless there is a car in white right next to it.

Joe my father worked for The fork lift division of Toyota he’s owned every variant of Avalon since 1996 and Its always been one color pearl white lol his last model was a 2008 he just recently sold that car and bought an MDX and of course it’s in white lol!
every time I think I don't want a toyota because they aren't fast enough, or they aren't fun enough, I just remember my experience with other brands. I have 2 fifteen year old toyota products with over 100k miles, and they feel like new cars. I have had other brands that started falling apart after 25k miles.
I took a chance with a Stinger over this--last car was a Honda and reliability is now in my top 3 categories for cars.Stinger has been reliable and their 10 year warranty sold me--I was worried about reliability but on the stinger forum there are very few problems with 2020s and all are minor.Toyota is also not budging on the price--I buy cars outright and KIA and the dealer both gave me rebates--43k stinger became 36k--and then the trade i owned knocked the stinger down to 19k out the door.19k for a low 4 second AWD car that is warranted for 10 years edged out this car for me.I bought the car last April at the height of covid and KIA was doing evrything to get rid of their cars.Car is worth almost 35k as a trade in a year later--so it hardly depreciated.
I love the Avalon TRDs and all the other TRD models but the only issue is the flat black wheels fade quickly. A high gloss black would look much better when compared to the white paint work and its a lot easier to clean. I think the tacoma trd pro comes with gloss black wheels unlike all the other models.

Just got mine 3 weeks ago (2020 Supersonic Red)...yeah, needs more engine, along with the all wheel drive. Nice and roomy. Took it up the 178 canyon up here in Kern County (CA) and had a blast doing it. Also, have had it to 135...
The Avalon TRD came out last yr. The 2020 version was the first one & he did a review on it last yr. The 2021 version is basically the same but it has a few new features like android auto

Some other people have been offered as much as $44k for their 2019 Stingers even though a brand new one is only $45k. The used car market is just insane right now. Companies pay stupid amounts for low mileage cars and especially trucks right now.

I think he meant the reliability over time. The Avalon is a good pick to some because they rather invest elsewhere. An Audi is good car to be in once you have your money right.
Interestingly, I can remember this car first being brought on the market as a Buick fighter. Today, there's not even a Buick equivalent on sale in the United States.
Toyota really needs to give the Avalon a refresh next year. And the first thing that Toyota needs to do while refreshing the Avalon is shrink that humongous grille. I know they won't make a TRD Hybrid, but I hope this refresh happens very soon.
They’re retiring the Avalon model next year. The 2022 model year will be the last Avalon, at least here in the states. I think I read that they’ll still be available in China though where there’s a demand for this car apparently.
Here's what they need to do with the Avalon, one make it AWD that 3.5 liter engine is too much for just FWD. two add some horse power, three don't just make the exterior sporty make everything sporty ( new key fob, new steering wheel, etc) also add a bit more tech on it like a 360 view camera like on the touring trim. Other than that this car is beautiful!
Joe, don’t you think the Kia Stinger matches up against this car well? You can get an AWD 2021 Stinger GT2 for about $45k now. It blows this car away in performance and even some features like cooled seats, heads up display, and 360 degree camera. Modifications to this car aren’t going to improve performance that much because it is normally aspirated. I have over 400 WHP in my Stinger with just a piggyback tune and some Velossa Tech snorkels. It still has the stock exhaust and intake and easily does the 1/4 mile in 12.4 seconds at 116+ mph. This Avalon looks good but there are so many other cars that offer so much more for about the same price.
You know, I didn't like the styling on this at first, but I've seen a few on the road, and damn, it's sexy. Something about a full size sporty looking sedan is a showstopper to me.

The biggest problem with this car is the price tag. The Lexus ES 350 F Sport starts at just under $46K, which is just about the same as this Avalon TRD. As nice as the Avalon is, the ES is just a little nicer in every aspect for about the same price. It doesn’t hurt that the ES carries a luxury car badge while the Avalon doesn’t.

my dad had a 96 Corolla blue in color, she was a good ol reliable car and my dad bought it in 03 and sold it in 2018 for a 2008 Infiniti FX35

He hates Gloss black. I painted all the outside Emblems and interior trim in my 06 GTO to Gloss Black. From boring Silver titanium and I love it 😻!
