  • Edited to add: It was brought to my attention that I said the dimensions of the folio wrong. At about 4:42 I gave the wrong dimensions. The folio is 8" tall by 5 1/2" wide, with a 1" spine. I apologize for this...
    Good Morning and Happy 4th of July!! I was looking at the scraps from a design team package from Country Craft Creations countrycraftcre... from last year and came up with this cute little folio project that I think you will love. The base only requires 4 sheets of cardstock and whatever scraps you want to use. I didn’t have too many but I managed to make this and exhaust that paper collection. And I’m just in time for the holiday!
    I am using Echo Parks “America” paper collection and Artisan cardstock from Country Craft Creations. I also used my patchwork paper technique to make a couple sheets of paper that I cut to cover the folio and make cards also. You can see that tutorial here if you haven’t seen that yet. • Patchwork Paper Tutorial
    Have a fun and safe holiday!

    Thanks for the update I was thrown off when you said it was 6x8. That’s what I based my 12 x12 calculation and was thrown off. I reviewed your scoring of the page and realized it was 5 1/2x 5 1/2. Thanks for confirming. Should be fun to make. I’ve got tons of scraps,

      @@michelleallenacreativeoper6112 I don’t have any scor sheets....I find they’re pretty expensive. I may try just covering a sheeet of cardstock w tape runner and try that. Have you always done it with tape sheets? Ugh...my math tells me that would cost $4 for the damn tape....yikes. Lmk what your thoughts are and if you’ve tried any other adhesive. Thank you!

      Glue would also work, absolutely. I just haven’t tried it yet.

    I love the construction of this folio and how simple and quick it is to put together to use up patterned paper! Thanks so much for sharing....I would love to see more folios that don't need chipboard! Great gift idea!!!

    Doesn’t take much to confuse me, but based on the widths I get 13” width or did you cut down the front page mats by 1/4”? 5 1/4x 7 3/4 for covers and 3/4 x 7 3/4 for spine.

    • @maryjanesmith4261
      @maryjanesmith4261 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Meant 5 3/4 (w)x 7 3/4 (h) for front and back page mats, 3/4 x 7 3/4 spine?

    • @michelleallenacreativeoper6112
      @michelleallenacreativeoper6112  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The folio is 8" tall by 5 1/2" wide with a 1" spine...so 12" across when opened flat. I cut my mats 1/8" smaller than the piece they cover, so I cut 2 at 5 3/8 x 7 7/8 and 1 at 7/8 x 7 7/8. I am so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. I did make a note about this above in the description. Thanks for letting me know and for the question.

      No problem no worries.

    Cute! Just want to clarify. For the cover you made 2 12 x 12 patchwork pages so you could but the front, back, and spine piece? You had mentioned the front and back were
    6 (w)x8(h)and spine 1(w)x 8(h)

      I am so sorry and I apologize for any inconvenience. I did say it is 8" tall by 6" wide, but it really is 5 1/2" wide. I am sooooo sorry. I did add an edited note in the description. Thank you for letting me know about my error.

    I love this and how sturdy it is without using chipboard. The design is really unique. I'm a little thrown by the back and forth waterfall.. would have loved to see you actually assemble it! I may be able to figure out if I look again at the finished product but I've never seen it done this way before! (and I've been watching album videos for YEARS!). I really want to make this as looks quite easy to make and love how big the mats are for photos.

      I’m glad you liked it. I didn’t adhere the waterfall pieces as you have to put the patterned paper in the page first and then add the pieces. I did share the measurements for where in the page to place them, just put glue onto the 1/2” scores in the waterfall pieces and adhere them onto the page. When you glue the 1/2” pieces it gives you two full waterfall pages each. Refer back to the beginning of the video when I do the walk through. I’m glad you liked the video. Thank you for the kind comments and I hope you enjoy making one of these folios.
