    I absolutely love love loved this! Not everyone can afford to spend crazy amounts of money on a bullet journal. It's nice to see that you made it accessible for everyone! People can literally pick a notebook of some sort like this up at the Dollar Tree, along with their pen(s). To me, it's definitely not about the most expensive or greatest quality. Your descriptions and explanations were on point! It's so basic, yet thorough, and can get ANYONE started! I can also appreciate the no "frills" without stickers, doodles, etc. It's fine if people want to add that in later on, but again, this gets people started! Your bullet journal tutorial will most certainly help so many people focus on their tasks at hand. Very well done, thank you so much for sharing. Cheers! 😁👍🏻📖✍🏼

    Thank you. You helped me understand the basics. Other videos I watched were discouraging and overwhelming because they mixed a lot of extra stuff with the basics and it only caused confusion. It was difficult to differentiate between what was needed to start journaling and what was their own twist on bullet journaling. Great video for demonstrating you don't need a special notebook to start a bullet journal. Any simple notebook will do. I also like the emphasis on using what works for you and not trying to copy something someone else created just because it looked artful or fancy.

    THANK YOOOOOUUU!!!!! This was the BEST intro into bullet journaling! Why? Because it basically follows Ryder Carroll's concept and takes you step-by-step through the process. Other people give an overview without the step-by-step. And others still, do their little tweaks, such as OMITTING the Future Log altogether if you can believe it! (How do they migrate BACK, without a Future Log!??) The BIGGEST frustration with OTHER videos is when people turn journaling into "scrapbooking"!! (Talk about being ADD!!!) I've passed this video/info on to one of my FEMALE friends! ;-)

    I am planning on using a composition notebook for 2021. I have a small monthly calendar from Dollar Tree that I am pasting onto the first page for each month. I am following a lot of what you have in this video, but it looks like I may adapt some of the ideas. The sticky note is excellent. I am also considering using a 5x7 three ring loose leaf binder. Currently using one for the remainder of this year. I have purchased from Office Depot their calendar system with the monthly and weekly system. Just didn't work for me. I need more space for notes. Nicely done video. I have tried BUJO off and on, and one of the things that always "broke my brain" were having collections interspersed throughout the journal instead of a separate section (as you would do with a binder with dividers etc etc). But I think the thing that you touch on (around 21:00) that is really important is the fact that you have to daily engage with and practice the bujo method. If you can build that habit then I think it works. And I think that Carroll talks about this some as well -- the idea of "reflecting upon your priorities" and thus figuring out what is truly important to you. Anyway, I think I will give it another try -- thanks for the inspiration. Oh and the other thing I really appreciate is the simple notebook no frills approach that you illustrated. Frankly I've seen enough illustrative, scrap bookie bujos to last me a lifetime. So this was refreshing... :-)

I've used steno notebooks for note taking at work for years. But there's no organization to them and I often find myself flipping through one trying to find something I know I jotted down. Thanks for checking it out. The index is an ongoing table of contents. Let’s call it what it is. But you use this to reference the topics you need like a traditional index just on the front since you don’t really know where you’d fine certain things in your notebook until it’s there. Wishing you luck with making it happen for yourself. Sounds like you have a good system already. Just tweaks to make it better.

So, i'm gonna prepare a proyect with your ideas, because they have to watch the same film 4 times in different versions, so they have to catch details in each one of them, and apart from that, they have to realize the common details, and so on. Mmmm...! I fell in love with this 'cos i'm sure that the final result will be great for both parts. Thanks. Javier from Venezuela

    Fun fact: The future log is for the FUTURE! Sooooo... If your bujo starts with January, your future logs start with February... The future! There's no reason to write January stuff in a January future log. Just write them on your January monthly. ... If instead of migrating the task: sending your cards, to February, you wanted to migrate them to January 15th, you wouldn't migrate them to the January future log, you'd migrate them directly to the January monthly calendar. ❤🌅🌵😷

      Good point. I had the same confusion trying to figure out what to do with the “future” when when I was on that month.....other than making a note for something to do at the end of the month.

    • @suzisaintjames
      @suzisaintjames 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dobycorder3206, a lot of people are starting new journals in July... If you started your last bujo's future log in February and still made 6 months worth of future logs... They would go February through July. So if you had things to add at the end of the current month, those events can go in your old bujo's July future log. Because your new bujo's future logs would run: August through January.💖🌞🌵😷

    My sister, who I call the "Queen of Planners," steered me to your video today. Good presentation! And your enthusiasm for the system is contagious.
    Funny thing, my sister gave me a green composition book in March which I didn't feel like writing in at the time. Since then, I've had an operation and am recovering and have begun to make log entries and plan for each day - more or less.
    I usually leave the first few pages blank and number every other page. I'd done that and started to make lists of staff personnel.
    In other words, this modifiable bullet system is in line with how I've been thinking - to a point. And the notation seems fairly simple. It's just the application and striving for consistency that'll be a challenge.
    I'm up for it! Need this added organization. Thanks for sharing this. I don't like the word "guru" so much as its connotations in English go. But if I'm gonna adopt a system, this looks like one to go with. And you've probably got some other ideas that might appeal to me. So, I'll call you a Pathfinder. I subscribed.

    Hello Mark! Super great video to introduce bullet journaling. I had been teeter-tottering for a number of months now primarily because I am not yet ready to commit to the expense of a formal dotted/grid-lined journal (compared to the cost of a regular notebook). This video explaining how-to bullet journal in a regular lined notebook was the clincher for me! Your video is what gave me the push i needed to get going, to find a suitable notebook and put pen to paper. Literally! ;^) I was VERY excited to see in images that it's possible to bullet journal WITHOUT the cutesy art (which I *DO* LUV! Sigh...). Loved how you are "dating yourself" with the phrase '...migrate 'Back to the Future'... Haha! :-D Truth: I LUV the displays of art in the (VERY) creative journal pages seen on just about every social media platform, but alas I don't have the time, the patience, and mostly, the talent to re-create them. I am quite a bit a scatter brain. I tend to have notes jotted down EV-ER-Y-WHERE: on pieces of scrap paper, on the back of receipts laying on the kitchen table, in notebooks (?!), on my phone, in my iCal.... Not one of these "system" has ever made me organized. Or productive, for that matter.... While my brain holds a phenomenal amount of information (i still remember the plate number from my first car 25 years and 5 cross-country moves ago! Now, how useful is *that* in Life??!), i tend to be forgetful. Events like birthdays and Christmas.... tend to creep up on me :-/ I have high hopes that adopting this simple system will help me stay organized. I thank you , Sir, for uploading! Keep on keeping on.
