Really cute. I know how you feel. I made a little journal from a tea box for my sister last year and man, I had a hard time parting with it. I started on one for myself but I'm still not done with it.
I'm not entirely sure what it is, but when I start making a journal I just "plunge" in with my creativity and thoughts and, in a way, become "one with the journal" lol. Dreadful way to explain it, but you probably get it. Pulling all these bits and bobs of junk together into a design that pleases the eye and also makes-sense poetically seems nearly "soulful" from a creative perspective. We'll all probably be studied on day in the future as an 'artistic movement" that's one of the first to have blossomed from the WWW, because whilst I cannot find one person in the town I live in that even knows what a "junk journal" is, I connect with oodles of Junk Journaler's across the globe. It's a lovely art movement too, because we're keeping things out of landfills. Turning things that would otherwise be tossed into lovely pieces of useful art. Okay, I've blabbered on enough, time to get started on another journal!
@@cuteniquestudio Blabber away! I love it! I totally get what you mean. It's like you go into a flow state. And you put it so beautifully how putting all these pieces together- it's such a nurturing and therapeutic experience. And you get a deep attachment to certain pages or journals. I will say, I'm kind of lucky because in November 2017, a couple ladies from my church invited me to go to an altered book class. To be honest, I wasn't interested but by the time the class was over, I was hooked. And then YT led to the rest of it. Art has always been important to me, but for years I had gotten away from it for various reasons. So I'm grateful that I do have some ladies who are into it too and my mom and my niece appreciate me doing it. But other people, yes, it is hard to describe to them when they don't know what you're talking about. Sometimes I tell people I do art journaling...which is true but it's easier to just say that. We live in a world where people don't have patience for things they don't understand. And I've never really thought of it as a "movement". We'll be like the Bauhaus or Dada movements - I honestly have no idea what I'm talking about, but who knows? It's kind of an underground thing and it's awesome.
@@spottedfawn639 Oohhhh, Bauhaus and Dada both are two of my fave art movements, as are the PreRaphaelites. All the Artists who challenged the standards of their time. I wholeheartedly am nodding with everything you wrote, and am thrilled to meet others who "get it" :)
Adorable!!! You did a fantastic job!
Thank you! I LOVE the one you sent me as well.
