Well, as wasteful as NASA is (and they are, it's a government agency after all and they always are wasteful). I will say this, at their height of spending, they were 1/10 of 1% of the national budget. While social and welfare program exceeded 23% of the budge (back then) that now exceeds 58% (now). The spin off from NASA tech is exponentially more beneficial than was ever spent. We use in our daily life items because of that and because of the satellites launched and thermal mapping, we now yield more than 2x per acre in grain than we did back then.
Had we spent that money on them in handouts, we would have never realized a long term gain. The saying: Feed a man fish, he eats for a day, teach him how to fish, feed him a lifetime. Is fitting.
There is a reason why White Western nations are first-world - we held ourselves to higher standards (that is until propaganda said to embrace multiculturalism)

Serious question that I can never get an answer to. About the Zimbabwean story about crops. Africa is considered the “cradle of civilization”, ancestors of humanity went all over the globe and flourished as farmers, yet still in Africa, they don’t have clean drinking water. Here in 2024, I read an article of some famous TH-cam fella was going about that continent digging wells so the thirsty people could have water. The governments of several countries shut him down, said he was “shaming” them. Now they are starving and asking the farmers that were able to water the land and feed the people to comeback. Yet, the people with less melanocytes are the bad people. Explanation please. Anyone?
The communists are great experimenters with the human race. So history shows that when they wrested power in the Russia they could implement policies like you Farmers have to work on collective farms from now on and work for the common good and we'll allow you to keep 10% of what you produce and no, you won't get paid for the other 90%. So when the Farmers refused, the communists seized their land and threw the Farmers and their Families out of their farm houses. 6 million died. To then get people to work the "collective farms" the communists sent people from the cities, who knew nothing about farming, so about another 1.5 million townsfolk starved to death. In the end the USA GAVE the Russians FREE wheat to feed their starving population. Which the communists accepted but only on the basis that the USA was sanctioned by Russia as an inferior Capitalist Nation. Then there was the experiment when a group of Russian men, women and children were relocated to a wilderness area and then left with no food, no tools, no crops to "see what would happen" When the communists returned some months later to see how their experiment was going the few survivors left had turned to cannabalism.
Then there was the White sea canal. Built by hand by enslaved Russians taken from the various Gulags. Too shallow to be of any use, 125,000 Russians dies in the process. Then there is the "road of bones".............
The communists running Africa care only about their own welfare, so just about ALL African nations since becoming self governing are returning to the stone age from whence they came. Those that had Africans working for them like my Father In Law knew EXACTLY what would happen when those nations gained their "independence" as demanded by the communist "united nations"

Problem now is, those people are now labeled “climate refugees” and are now taking over the cities and soon the whole countries of the people that built these great infrastructure, agricultural places. Africa was never the cradle of civilization, Mesopotamia was. All the oldest languages and knowledge comes from there. Africa just has extinct monkey bones mistaken for missing links.

I lived in San Francisco for just over 30 years until my retirement in 2015. I actually voted for Gabblin’ Knewsum when he ran for mayor. At the time, he was still pretending to be a moderate, right-of-center candidate. Now that he’s dropped the disguise and shown his true colors, I cringe whenever I recall that I did something so heinous.

I think Durban trashed streets deserve some context. I was shocked and googled. This is a result of the municipality workers on strike.

@@tindog999 I used to work with a guy that moved to Scotland from S.A. and he told me some scary stories about how they had to stay up all night on the farm guarding the homestead from those who would like to do terrible things to the occupants. Then the government people would come in the daytime and try to force them to sell up for nothing. That was years ago so it must only be so much worse now.
