Hi Stephen, Great video to watch over my porage this morning. I have been working through 100 day cough so over the last 6 weeks I have been trotting 5-7 mile local trails. On Wednesday I decided to go for the big one and ran from Drymen to Balmaha along the way. Had cup of tea at the Oak tree. Took me nearly 4.5 hours, and last couple of miles were murder, but got there. Walkers were great as you said.
Hey mate , ah thanks so much for that. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Wow mate. Well done. That's the best way to try and work, though, and get back to it isn't it? Just ticking off the miles and try and keep that aerobic base firing away. Yeah mate they really were, it feels really epic to be part of their journey. Thanks again for the support mate 👍
Massive thanks JB 😊. Yeah I'm hopefully going to get further up the trail. Might do some really early morning runs over summer and get it in. I'll definitely do more of it when the kids get up a bit more. I just love doing it. Thanks again for all your support mate. Its hugely appreciated as always 🙌🔥
Thanks, mate. It really is great running with folk that you can have a right good laugh with. . Yeah I love this route now to be fair. I think I'm going to do an early morning loch side run , along to Rowardennan and back. Replicate WHW race time sort of thing. Thanks again for the top support as always buddy 👍 🙏
Brillaint video Stephen mate. Really enjoyed that. Well done. Your video has motivated me to try and get out back to running. I did try and go out yesterday mind you. Lasted like 5 mins. Having problems with my left shin. So frustrating. You got any tips on how get rid of shin splints? Am going out for a walk with my son today. He wants to make a TH-cam video with me lol. Going to my local Palacerigg country for a walk. Keep up the good work. Loving your content. Take care Alan
Thank you so much mate! Yes I love to hear that this has gave you that wee but of motivation. I'd say it's probably training load with the running on your shins. Maybe try some strengthening exercises on your legs. Ah mate that will be epic. It's amazing how they take some direct inspiration from us, aren't it? They are like little sponges. Thanks again mate for all your support 👍 👏.
Hi Alan, You might try stretching your calf muscles and achilles tendons which might help. As part of my warm up I stand with my toes on edge of stairs then gently lower my heel ls below stair then gently up again about 15 times. This cured my tendonitus.
