Having been cut out of my vehicle while my four children watched, I can say that all the lights, smells and the very loud Jaws of Life are a terrifying situation for all involved. My kids had the added terror of seeing me put on a helicopter for transport. My oldest two girls were transported with minor injuries and my twins were taken by a friend of mine who just happened to be in traffic behind the wreck. They’re adults now but they remember that afternoon well. I’m praying that everyone makes a full recovery and the children don’t suffer any lasting effects from the trauma. God bless the first responders! Accidents involving children are the hardest to deal with.
Where I work, paramedics often crawl into the back seat of a wreck if that's the best way to access a critical patient. Sitting there and feeling the car creak and bang as pillars are cut is quite daunting.
As a mom of two, my heart broke into a thousand pieces at 0:28 seeing those little hands and legs... God BLESS all of the first responders, ON the scene and BEHIND the scenes.
I'm a mom of two too. (They are in their 30s now.) I saw that. We never want to see this happen to babies. It's good that the babes were alive and moving well. Thank the Lord. We made several road trips in the 1990s without incident.
Got nothing but love and respect for first responders, firefighters, and police officers who have to witness horrific car accidents and do all they can to save lives. Truly heros!

It’s possible they were travelling. Or the parent just got off work & had picked up her children. There are many reasons parents are out at that hour. May the parent had to take one of the children to the hospital.
I live in Sacramento,CA. We moved from an apartment to a house, a duplex, but it is on a corner. I have never lived on a corner and it is incredible how people speed down the road, we have seen a couple of bad accidents and the ambulances and fire trucks run all the time. People are speeding!
These firemen and the firewoman are heroes they work so hard and save so many lives everyday the horrible things they see I pray for there mental health and hope they get counciling once in a while I know most are good drinkers cuz it's to much to for any human to take in what they even see in one day much less everyday 365 days a year so my heart goes out to them and feel they should be paid way more seriously thank you to all the firemen and wemon and ambulance workers and nurses and Drs they are heroes and we would be alive and happy without any of them blessing and love always 🙏🌺🙏 and also pray this mother is okay cuz those two babies need her
i was a paramedic 15 years, and we don't need counseling, we know what we signed up for. thanks though, but its what we love to do. we choose to do this everyday
People should realise that it is solely you that is in control of your vehicle. You could do everything right that involves driving a vehicle but there are other vehicles around you with drivers who are not that good at driving. Stay aware. Keep your attention. Stay alert. For everybody.

They're designed to crumple easier and in specific pattern in order to protect the occupants. Say that car was a classic sedan, structured like a tank, and had minimal damage. Where would all that energy transferred to in the impact? Instead of critical patients, there would've been a much higher mortality with DOAs. Cars now, when they crumple, it looks awful, but it's pretty cool how that energy transfers to minimize the damage to the occupants. Not perfect, but much safer than traditional vehicles. Definitely agree though on the slow down and pay attention! Especially with late-night driving. Being tired can sometimes be worse than being under the influence.

Phoenix by far has some of the worst drivers. We have idiots from all over the country moving here and bringing their idiot driving mindsets. Red light runners, wrong way drivers and tailgaters are just a few common issues here.
Interestingly enough, you can come out of a perfectly good seatbelt that is on the proper way. When my car rolled, I was ejected out of my seat and ended up in the backseat.
I've seen many accidents on videos and I've always wondered why so many 1st responders are called to the accident when literally they have about 6 or more just standing or walking around 🤔. Do they rotate during the rescue? Does anyone know why this happens? I know that they are heroes. May the lord bless each one every day 🙏❤
I find on an extrication, you can never have too many people there to help. When a call goes out, we don't know exactly what the call will entail, how many patients, how bad the injuries are, or how complex the extrication will be, but it is way better to have too many at the scene instead of not enough. Our fire guys do amazing extrication work, then us EMTs take over. Teamwork is the best thing for the patient or patients.
A lot of is for safety. You have backup already there for when you get tired. And there are a LOT of parts of their jobs that are inherently physically exhausting. Even doing something as simple as CPR is exhausting. It’s good to have that relief.
Big part to why there's so many is depending the situation is traffic how many vehicles involved how many will need to be extracted how far up the road has to be blocked weather, they do rotate depending how long and how many extractions they are only reason I know is im a firefighter for my hometown

Wow!!:The ONLY reasons I can think of to logically drive toddlers anywhere late @ night,would be in an emergency evacuation(via: dangerous weather, or wildfires near their homes).Or; to take them to a Hospital emergency care for a medical emergency that started before they left home. Obviously none of those were the case,because there were enough adults in the vehicles,to where only one ADULT,(no children),would need to go out, "IF" there was some reason the one adult needed to go out by themselves! You didn't interview witnesses, victims nor did you do any investigation regarding the accident. Maybe one of the kids were sick? Or how about the baby was having a hard time sleeping so, like me when my kid was a baby, I took my kid for a drive and guess what? 5 mins later, asleep. I had spent 2 or 3 hours a night, EVERY NIGHT, for weeks trying desperately to walk, rock, sing, cuddle, ANYTHING to get my kid to sleep. It became so exhausting I had to take a LOA from work because my mental health was suffering. The drs couldn't figure out why he would only sleep maybe 2 hours then be awake 4; and 17 years later he still has issues w/sleep. The pediatrician recommended taking my kid for a drive and it worked. My kid was also almost 7 weeks premature and I feel that played a huge role. I mean should the parent have just left one of the kids home by themselves? Makes sense🤷♀️ Get off your righteous soapbox and myob. I really hate people like you. It must be so exhausting to be this judgemental. There are 24hr daycares for parents who work night shifts. MAYBE the parent is a nurse or a doctor. Not every kid needs to have the same bedtime. Also, parents can work at any time of the day. A lot even work at night. So when you go pick your kids up it could very well be PAST their bedtime.

Wow!!:The ONLY reasons I can think of to logically drive toddlers anywhere late @ night,would be in an emergency evacuation(via: dangerous weather, or wildfires near their homes).Or; to take them to a Hospital emergency care for a medical emergency that started before they left home.
Obviously none of those were the case,because there were enough adults in the vehicles,to where only one ADULT,(no children),would need to go out,
"IF" there was some reason the one adult needed to go out by themselves! Maybe a beer run or whatever!!
The fact that 2 cars crashed so badly @ a gas station,so close to the gas pumps is unacceptable!!

You didn't interview witnesses, victims nor did you do any investigation regarding the accident. Next time the owners of the car should tell physics to stop physic-ing and make sure the car wrecks into something more acceptable.
Also, who tf said they weren't on their way to the ER? Maybe one of the kids were sick? Or how about the baby was having a hard time sleeping so, like me when my kid was a baby, I took my kid for a drive and guess what? 5 mins later, asleep. I had spent 2 or 3 hours a night, EVERY NIGHT, for weeks trying desperately to walk, rock, sing, cuddle, ANYTHING to get my kid to sleep. It became so exhausting I had to take a LOA from work because my mental health was suffering. The drs couldn't figure out why he would only sleep maybe 2 hours then be awake 4; and 17 years later he still has issues w/sleep. The pediatrician recommended taking my kid for a drive and it worked. My kid was also almost 7 weeks premature and I feel that played a huge role.
I mean should the parent have just left one of the kids home by themselves? Makes sense🤷♀️

There are 24hr daycares for parents who work night shifts. MAYBE the parent is a nurse or a doctor. MAYBE they were on the road visiting family who live 10 hours away and stopped for gas. Maybe a parent was escaping a dangerous situation.... maybe this crash was part of that. Maybe you're just incredibly judgemental and sheltered, resulting in that tiny grinch-like heart. Do you ACTUALLY believe that both people *decided* to crash into one another "so close to the gas pumps" .. and felt it was entirely "acceptable" to risk those kid's lives like that!? I'm gonna roll the dice and guess you've never been in a car accident, so your brain logically thinks this was a poorly executed plan to emdanger those kids on purpose. How on earth do you sleep, thinking the worst of everyone who doesnt live up to your made-up standards!?

Not every kid needs to have the same bedtime. Also, parents can work at any time of the day. A lot even work at night. So when you go pick your kids up it could very well be PAST their bedtime.
