When people start to talk about their religion, my typical response is that Om is the "deity" (energy) that stands above all other deities, including theirs (yeah, people tend to get very nervous about that). Om requires you to do absolutely nothing, no rules, no scripture to follow, no mandatory prayers with your nose sticking into some prescribed direction, no dress code, no fees to pay to some "religious" members-club-only. Om only asks you , well, to be you, and to connect the energy that you are with the energy that surrounds you. It's that simple really, and makes live a whole lot easier. The answer is 42, and that's more than enough.
