Great tips, Christina! Something else you can do with translucent paste, or any sort of thicker gel medium, is create your own glitter gel. I use either Liquitex or Golden clear gel mediums, as they're more readily available, since places like Michael's sell them. So if you have a store like that, or any art supply store, near you, you don't necessarily have to order those. Anyway, just mix in loose glitter to the clear gel/translucent paste (better to use clear than white in this case), & you've got glitter gel! If you want color, you can use dye/Distress ink pads, reinkers, liquid watercolors...basically anything water-based & transparent. I suppose you could use something like acrylic paint, as it is compatible with the gel, but it would negate the transparency & might "hide" the glitter. I've never used it, so I can't say either way about its effect on glitter. The reason I do this rather than buy pre-mixed glitter gel is I so rarely use it. Gel mediums are more versatile on their own, and I can mix a small amount of glitter gel up if I need it. I've noticed the mediums also don't seem as inclined to dry up after you open them, like pre-made glitter gels or pastes can. Another tip I've seen is, rather than just add Press 'n Seal or plastic wrap over the mouth of the jar, mush it down in so it is against the paste inside the jar.
