I'm planning on purchasing a snowie machine and your flavors this spring for a startup. I'm very excited and I want to thank you guys for the videos. Truly valuable stuff and I wish you would keep em coming! I like the videos when you shadow an event. Seeing the all the pieces in action really motivated me! I do have a question though. What date should I aim for to get set up and start selling? Do I wait till April even if it's not super hot yet? Also from your experience what would be a fair price to expect to pay for a location outside a busy gas station or somewhere similar? I'm located near Houston but in a small town. The nearest snow cone place is about 15 miles away. Thanks!
Ethan E, thanks for reaching out to us. We will be creating a lot more videos, so be on the lookout! Open dates vary a lot. It depends on your climate and location. Some people never close and therefore never have a target date to open. However, I will tell you that Memorial Day seems to be a pretty consistent average on most people opening throughout the nation. The money you pay for a location is equally as obscure. I have personally paid between $300 - $1200. I know that people have paid far more than that, but the location had a ton of foot traffic and justified that kind of rent. A good rule of thumb for me is that you should be able to make your monthly rent in one day. So if I am paying $1200/mo, I should have a location that can consistently give me a $1200 day. Which machine works best to use the flower cups to make Shave Ice closest like Hawaii
You can use any of our shavers for flower cups. We actually have attachments called, "Flower Cup Attachments" that magnetically attach to the mouth of your shaver and make it perfect for shaving into a flower cup. You can find those options here: snowie.com/?product_cat=&s=flower&post_type=product

I was thinking, if you offer three sizes , make them without the flavoring then weigh them. Now offer ice cube trays that are color coded. Just a thought. ⭕⭕
Joe, I am not following. My guess is you are taking the approach of a self serve frozen yogurt stand, but I am not sure what you are doing with the ice cube trays. Is it so they get a specific amount of snow? Yeah, you could do that to control amounts. What we have found is that 99% of the time when you have people make their own, they usually do too litte, unless they are using the Cube Pro or the Snowie 3000, then it is user error. The machine is so fast that they put in too much on accident. They really don't apply too much snow. If I misinterpreted your idea, let me know.

That sounds great. We have a lot of people who start their own shaved ice business using real fruit. It is a bit harder for obvious reasons, but it is a great product.
