- Hold on because today things get really big and bad as Stacey shows you how to take a Ford Super Duty and wrestle on 8 inches of lift and squeeze on 38 inch tall tires to make a rig that not only commands attention on the road, but also can take command off road. Then we’ll take a look at the new Subaru Baja. Is it a car? A truck? The reincarnation of the legendary brat? We’ll find out
When lifted trucks didnt have rubber band tires
can't stand the truck rice today
Yes AGREED
@@Cuhh346 or using rock lights while driving on pavement 😂
Not your truck not your money so why do you worry about what others do with their vehicles? People like you are what’s wrong with this country. 🤡
Wait. You don't like the squatted rubber band look? 😁
Look at that gorgeous 7.3 Power Stroke Super Duty… so many of em are rusted out and beat to death nowadays . That truck in that condition would be worth a pretty penny today, preferably in stock form.
This AND Gearz upload?! 🤩 today is a great day already 😌
Holy Sh-t!!!!
It’s my dream truck from 20 years ago and still today. Crazy that that truck in that condition would cost more today than when it was new. God I miss getting up on Saturday mornings to watch the Power Block.
For those who are wondering about legality, most states have a limit to the distance from the ground to the headlights. Some people get around that limit by putting headlights into the bumper.
Today trucks are seen mostly as tow vehicles. They were years ago as well. But more so as a haul vehicle. The whole idea for a truck was so you did not need a trailer. And most guys would not buy a truck unless it had an eight -foot bed. Something you could actually use for hauling. Now everyone is happy with four doors and a damn sandbox. I guess they do not think about the fact that when you lift it, now anything you haul especially heavy things has to be lifted that high to get it in the bed.
See now THAT is a wheel and tire combination. None of these big wheels with little sidewall. This is how it should look.
That thing will wallow all over the place. There is a reason you see bigger wheels for bigger tires. A 38' on a 20" rim is perfect. Add in you're able to run big brakes that will actual slow down that wheel and tire package.
@@bmstylee Very true. I have 20's on my truck with 35's. The point we all can agree on is that even with 20's, those 38's would still have a lot of sidewall rubber. I don't like seeing big rims, but a tire that has a skinny sidewall where the closest the tires will see dirt is if dust gets blown on the tread.
@@dwp139 yeah the rubber band look is definitely for a certain crowd. At least where I live it's called rolling probable cause because it's generally big SUVs with blacked out windows and loud stereos.
@@bmstylee A couple years ago at a 4x4 show I saw a truck that had 33-inch tires on 30-INCH rims. That's a definite no in my book. And, yeah, it had that rolling probable cause...although it was a white truck, but it had a couple subs installed in the cab and the base was thumping big.
Good video as always.👍
glad rubber band tires werent a thing back then
Looking good Stacey, why can't we stay young forever right? back in the 80's I bought a 1966 chevy longed truck for $1100.00 it still looked like new and only had around 60K miles, every time I see one I kick myself for selling it, best of all it was emissions exempted and if I get ahold of an old classic like that, you can bet I'm keeping it....Javi G.
I had th same truck with same lift 😭😭 boy I miss it.
I love watching these old episodes from Stacey David gearz to power Nation two guys garage and many more they were the good old days
I would have changed the oem hubs out for Dynatracs and regeared to compensate for the 38s
38"s are definitely going to need regearing. And I agree a better set of hubs would be helpful.
👍

Awesome they licensed mudvayne for the background music back in the day!
I still want a turbo Subaru Baja 😂
Does it take a turn with more then 30 mph?
The front steering mechanism looks damaged already, the yellow boot on the right side
Appears to just be a boot failing. My personal truck had the same issue, it needed a zip tie to hold the boot to the shock.
You can do this in your garage over the weekend...... Not everybody has a car lift
What kind of Subaru is it?
Baja. They only made them for about 3 years

Don't forget the mud flaps for road use, Some cops will hound you because of it..
A 38" tire on a 16" rim is going to wallow all over the place. I have a 33" on a 17" rim and that's a good amount of sidewall
