If you think about it, it's not really Steve's insensitivity but it's Alex's mistake which makes both of them even at that point. Past Steve would've made Alex step on the pressure plate, fully knowing what it is, and laugh at her misfortune.
(Generally) As long as you're not a psychopath, even if you're "callous", your first instinct is to help others get away from trouble. Especially if you care about the person. Steve is laughing not at her for doing something so stupid, but how relieved he is that she is okay.

Yeah i only fell for that trap once it was the first time when i looted a pyramid, after that i was always aware, but one day when i played modded i looted a pyramid and the pressure plate wasent there but the chast were rigged to be trapped chests and then fell for ir again

This is exactly what happened the first time I found a desert temple. I was so happy for just a minute, then I hit that switch and heard the hissing. Had the eye-opening moment of horror and died losing everything.
The art style is so identifiable and cozy with the nice animation that can even be super smooth when it needs to be, I enjoy every upload. Hopefully they don't get too sick of drawing Minecraft stuff :)
