Why can't we have these silly Black comedies again? Plus this movie actually has some heart and soul behind it, like House Party 1 and 2 and Friday. The script is well written enough to allow the rappers and actors to bounce off well against each other. The few Black comedies today are just goofy...
@SistaGurlonFilms Sista, you missed it last thirty years ago last night was powerful and inspiring About education for young freshman students. The late film director John Singleton are the best. He deserves it.
This movie was in heavy rotation in my household & i enjoy it. The colorism trope was everywhere in the 90s. Demita played by Alyssa Rogers definitely should have had a bigger career. Below are some other actresses from the 90s who should have had bigger careers: N’Bushe Wright Rose Jackson Kelly Jo Minter Taral Hicks Maia Campbell Cynda Williams Kimberly Russell Aja Sanders Charlene Brown Traci Camilla Johns Tamala Jones Traci Charelle Jones
Thanks so much for reacting to this, love this movie, this came out when I was 10-11 but didn’t see till I was 12, I was constantly at video store every week finding movies I’d enjoy, I remember the day I first picked this along with 4 others, House Party, Last Dragon, Encino man, and The Legend of Billie Jean.. at the time I was bit racist because of my mom saying not so nice words about other races and these movies including hundred films helped me to realize everyone is same, in fact damita was my first crush god damn she’s so beautiful, I actually ended up dating multiple different races later in life and I see everybody as same anyway, mom saw that thru me and it changed her some too, because I was sometimes bringing my exes around to show mom that everyone should be treated equally and she love her grandkids that’s mixed kept asking about them whenever I visit her.. yeah I haven’t seen this movie since 2000s rewatching this with you made me notice some new things, damita definitely have red flags, cheating on her man with new guy? No thanks and loved pauly shore scenes lol especially after watching Encino man, thank you for this I appreciate you I never seen you laugh this much I really enjoyed seeing you happy like that, hope winter treating you well, but darn snow is so bright at times.. look up sunset park movie, really enjoyed that movie, terrace Howard is in it lol
I'm glad you were open to learning about others so you could move away from racist thoughts! And the fact that movies helped you is even better! The video store era was such a great time! I wish we could go back to it
I’m so happy you did this. This was my favorite kid n play film. I would’ve risked it all for Damita she was fine. As usual I look forward to your reviews.
Sista girl chile have you seen the Tubi movie “Adopted”? Lawd! It may fit in the category of a Tubi drink challenge or just a OMG what did I just watch there’s a generic Wesley Snipes brother for the dad .. 😂😂😂😂 Lemme stop 😂 girl just watch it😂 As always live your channel sis✊🏾
One thing that I can’t figure out is how Blade Brown (who was like 17) had that big of a street rep, I mean dudes literally feared him and when they went to the club grown women threw themselves at him. That just seemed a little off to me.
Yeah you got a point with the girls and they kinda did it with the two stars too. In house party you have the selfish middle class kid and the thoughtful good working class kid. Then the roles are reversed but slightly different. The optics in the context of the society we in aint good, but i didnt notice it within the black society context growing up. As well being young yo dont see it. If they were worst characters it would be bad, but they also played the girls want the dangerous type sterotype with both of them.
Alysia Rogers who plays Damita was so fine in this movie. She is still pretty now. Pretty sure I saw that she was living in Atlanta
She is definitely aging like fine wine!

Because everything has to be deep, an allegory for something, or is a remake 🙄. It's so annoying! Lol #bringbacksillycomedy
I forgot this movie existed! 🤯 Nice find Sista Gurl!
What about "Higher Learning" (1995) movie, sista!
Higher Learning is one of those movies that I don't return to often just because it's too heavy
How could you forget about Class Act?! 😲 I'm happy I brought it back for you!
@@SistaGurlonFilms Lol, I haven't seen it in probably 30 years 😅

Wedge is so funny as a parody of bullies/pushers! His expressions are wonderful.
It almost feels like they were poking fun at the overly grown bullies in House Party 😂😂
This made me remember how much I liked this movie as a kid.
Good to see that Tommy actually had a job lol
😂😂😂 This only confirmed what we all suspected about Tommy...he was a drug dealer 😂😂
What’s up Sista love the movies you react to grew up watching some of these movies
Hey!! Thank you!
Haven't seen this since the 90s. Looking forward to this.
I think It held up well over the years
"Readin' is fun-da-mental... You, TEACH!"
Teacher: "Oh yes. Reading IS fundamental.." 🤣🤣
Wedge, mayne.. Dude cracks me up, never fails..🤣🤣
😂😂😂 That whole scene is hilarious!

Damita was so gorgeous!! She should have been in some many more leading lady roles!
Not the Saved By the Bell stitch 😂
Why were Slater and Lisa so happy to tell kids not to do drugs?! 😂😂
You took out one of the funny parts with the parents at the end. They were quite funny.
It was so gross lol And I was tired of editing at that point and just wanted to be done 🫢😂😂
I still don’t understand why that would even be a question at the knowledge bowl. They didn’t have any censors back then 😂
😂😂😂 Right!!!! The plot was just plotting for no reason!
Damn, I remember watching this movie a million times when it came out. I was 15 years old. Seems like a lifetime ago...
Time is an illusion! At least that's what I tell myself to act like it's 2005 and not 2025 😂
I wanted Plays truck so damn bad when I saw this as a kid at my homeboys house. Awesome show there ma'am keep up the terrific work 👌 👏 👍 😀
It was the coolest thing ever!
@SistaGurlonFilms Right on ma'am
This movie was so funny. I loved the Kid and Play movies. They were all a good time.

OMG yes!!!! I couldn't remember what other movie that part reminded me of
Sista girl!!!! ❤
Heyyyyyy we're back!!!!
I grew up on this movie and knew when you were going to say a line lol😅
This movie is so underrated!!! And has a ton quotables!
Alysia Rogers funny enough was in house party, she's one of the students in the background in the school cafeteria scene.
Ohh I don't think I ever noticed her!

I agree! And why were Fruity and Go Go big grown behinds hanging out with a bunch of high school kids?!!

100%! I didn't notice it growing up but it's so clear now as an adult
This movie is silly, but i still enjoy it from time to time lmao
It is so silly and I think that's why it cracks me up! I love a goofy comedy lol
