Yor's lessons are good, but Anya thinks they're useless because they keep blowing up in her face:
-Yor said it's better to just smile when someone's being mean to her, but Anya's forced smile is the world's greatest smirk so it caused even more problems
-Yor _did_ teach her a killer throw, but Anya has the strength and coordination of a 4 year old
She also forgot the final step of the throwing lesson which fucked up everything else.

"Athletic" as in "good at sports" not "athletic" as in physically capable. He knows she can fight. He doesn't know whether or not she's any good at sports.
I don't even know why they translated like that, you can hear Loid literally say "sports" when he asks her "are you good at sports"

21:30 the thing is, the picture was an anime-only addition so even manga readers were surprised cause in the manga he’s not even IN the photo, and the whole scene in the beginning of this episode of him looking at the photo never happened too. Looks like the studio has been inserting some anime-only content to build up how f’d up Damian’s family treats him lol
Honestly, if an adaptation is going to add content, this is the way to do it (no irrelevant filler arcs - just embellishment).

I always thought that Bill was shown to us bigger than he actually is for comedic effect. His voice in this episode just makes me even more sure. He's just a boy bigger than usual and we see him as the other kids see him.
Exactly. I remember that from childhood, how some kids seemed HUGE to us; you see pictures from that time and the difference was minor.
Loid didn't ask Yor "are you athletic too?" he actually said "are you also good at sports?" The subtitles just dropped the ball. If you need any proof of how someone could be athletic and also bad at a particular sport, just watch Conor McGregor try and throw a first pitch.
8:23 I feel like something may have been lost in the translation here. With the context it seemed like he was asking Yor if she was specifically good at sports, not if she was athletic in general.
Loid is actually asking Yor if she's also good at sport.
Anya most likely failed because of her "widdle arms & stubby legs" 🤭😂
I also think Anya forgot a few steps of the move that Yor taught her. If she remembered everything & executed them accurately, she might have destroyed Bill.
Last episode was *the best* in terms of Yor & Loid's development. While this episode successfully make people like Damian & starts to showcase more on Anya's school life.
I can honestly say *Spy x Family* anime is even better than the (already great)original manga. They follow the source material while filling in the blanks with good writings that doesn't betray the story & characters.

They make the story funnier and the characters more alive & relatable. The art is better in the manga because the artist went all out in some panels.. straight fire! But overall I'm liking the anime more. If you disagree, that's completely fair~👍🏻

It was a good throw. She just forgot the most important part. Releasing the ball.

The manga didn't have the scene where his friends were looking through the yearbook and Damien was looking at the class photo. You only see the photo once in the Manga.
I mean. Manga folks could note the significance more than an Anime only. I think this was the episode it was supposed to be obvious. Imo
@@YaBoyRockLee I just watched a video showing a comparison between the manga and the anime for this episode, and yeah, they noted that the photo in the manga didn’t even have Damien in it. So although I understand how you don’t like manga people throwing spoilery hints (I hate spoilers too… damn, some manga readers just can’t control themselves), in this case, I think it was just a sharp-eyed anime watcher that noticed it. The point is still valid that manga readers should stop throwing hints or actually give spoilers, though.

just fyi a lot of this episode was added on to the original chapters, like the training montage (but Yor actually is probably around that strong) and anime references, this show still takes place during the cold war, the animators just had some fun! Also Anya just gave too much follow through is all lol. Back when i played Dodgeball since i have always been bad at throwing and sports in general i used myself as bait and kept on dodging, gathering balls on my team's side for them to use. I think Anya would have got Bill Watkins if she did not put as much follow though.
It seems like they want to make Spy x Family a long show. Given the speed of adaption and extra contents they added, they probably can do 48 episodes before waiting for more contents.
Such an awesome and funny episode to react too. I have to say, I too found Bill to be kinda ridiculous to be believable, but now that I think about it again, I feel like some of us probably have seen that kid in the same grade as us who looks way more bigger/developed then he/she should look for someone that’s suppose to be the same age as us. Lol. Although, I’m not sure if that’s suppose to apply to six year olds. But I could be wrong. Lol.

I had the same thought. I think Yor might have been the last one standing if that happened. She'd also have no idea that the others were dragons because it would just seem like a normal game to her.

so all this happened because Damian and his cronies, Anya, Becky, and "Bazooka Bill" all fell for the rumor mill from Class 7.
This style of Dodgeball is some BS. There needs to be at least 3 balls in play (keeps the action away from a ball hog and allows for deflections). And catches either bring a player back or eliminate the thrower. But maybe they are playing this way, so the Headmaster can keep an eye out for Stella worthy plays?

If the writer was doing that, there would be foreshadowing to show that he knows.
