- Mainly bebop licks. Fujita san plays the turnaround with a Bm11 chord, and their turnarounds are slightly different. Tabbed this out mainly to steal licks.

Hi great work thanks! Any chance of the guitar pro file?
What scale does he play on the 251 around 0:43? I can't figure it out ://
Bb Harmonic Minor! (over C7, I personally don’t find modes helpful so idk what to call it)
it’s Bb major but Db instead of D
or, Bb natural minor with a G and A instead of a Gb and Ab
@@simonaks9774 why would he use that? I dont see a connection between Bb minor and C7. Thanks for help :))
@@stefanadkowicz2828 sure thing!
he’s basically “implying” the minor 4 to major 1 progression. Bb minor to F. It’s a super common, really good progression that you can find almost anywhere you look.
if you think about it, most notes in the Bb harmonic minor scale are the same as C mixolydian (the C7 scale). The only ones that are different, Db and Eb, turn out to be the b9 and #9 of C7. In Jazz, these are considered “color tones” that people often use over chords like C7 to give them some spice.
Hope that’s helpful!
In jazz, a lot of the time people use chord substitutions to make a progression more colorful. This is one of those situations where both C7 and Bb minor have “gravity” towards F major, so one can be used instead/over the other and it works!
@@simonaks9774 so i can think of it as "colored" c mixolydian, which works well with F major 251. You are making things much clearer. Hope you have a great day :))
