    I used phone cases for a very long time. But after I got my new one, I was amazed by the feel in the hand and the design so I didn’t buy a case. Yes it has a lot of scars and bumps but I think it gives the phone character and it still feels amazing

    The way I look at it, apple spends millions and millions and a tedious amount of time designing the phone to feel exactly the way it does out of the box and make it as thin as possible with the best materials for a reason. And it makes no sense why people choose a specific color phone only to never ever see it again and keep it pristine for either the next owner, or to sit in a drawer flawless?? Like use your phone.. you paid for it. Life’s to short to not enjoy the luxuries we pay big money for. Also for the 12 and 13 series apple changed applecare+ for it and now it’s also only $29 to fix the rear glass if cracked same price as the front, and it’s 59.99 if both are cracked. So long as the frame isn’t compromised it’s $29 for either panel now. And if you completely brick the phone it’s still only $99 to replace the entire thing on the spot with two incidents a year. Be mindful of what you’re doing while using the phone, don’t walk around with it too much, don’t try walking with it in hand while carrying other objects, be mindful what kinda pants pockets they’re in so they don’t slide out, don’t leave it on your lap in the car, and just be careful and you’d be surprised how long you go without dropping the phone. Plus the flat design is the most durable one yet since the glass sits inside the frame now unlike older iPhones. So now the frame is the first point of contact with most drops instead of older iPhones where the glass it first most times and shattered. Just be careful with it and you’ll be fine. The tiny scratches here and there are just character and shows your getting your moneys worth, and it’s a tool at the end of the day. Can’t drive a 200 thousand dollar Lamborghini with the car cover on, may as well enjoy your $1000+ dollar device to the fullest!

    • @mercedesgrider9873
      @mercedesgrider9873 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Honestly the $29 dollar back glass replacement is the best thing apple has done in years so glad they changed that! Hopefully all the other insurances do that as well not sure if they are or not.

  • @chaXolon
    @chaXolon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +51

    That's also my point: Why buying a nice high quality phone, highest Gorilla Glass Technology and other security features, when you don't trust them. As mentioned in the video: No matter how thin or nice the case is, it changes the phone's nice design which you also paid for. Samsungs, Apple, Huawei & co are spending millions and millions in developing stunning designs with material combinations of glass, alu, ceramics, stainless steel... and also design, which is supposed to be the most comfortable solution for the recent model.
    I used to spend too much for cases, out of the paranoia: What if?
    But to be honest: No case is bewaring you from the one clumsy or unexpected moment when you or someone drops your phone and the whole screen is scattered.
    I also don't understand why people put bulky ugly protectors on their nicely designed smartwatches.

      On a phone we still need to be able to absorb the shock when it makes contact with the ground when we drop it
      My old phone was Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro which was my trusty phone since I got it. I had dropped it a lot of times so that's why I called it Nokia 2 but one day it fell on it's corner and the internal screen was shattered while the external was fine

    I just got a refurbished iPhone 13 Pro in this gorgeous alpine green and since this was probably the most expensive purchase in a long time I got an Rhinoshield case as well. But maaan this device looks and feels so damn beautiful and I despise that I am missing out on this quality in my daily life. So I decided to go caseless half-time. As soon as I have more than a couple of hours at home, I am taking that case of and enjoy the texture of the materials, the amazing color job of the metal frame and my favorite color on the frosted back glass.

    I was going case-less on my iPhone 13 and it had been a month when someone bumped on to me at a fuel station and the phone flew a feet above from my hand and fell on a hard tile. I felt numb instantly but when I picked it up thank God it was a 3mm dent on aluminium on top of the camera housing. I felt like I should have bought a case. I ordered a case the next day and returned it the next hour I got it. Still going case-less. It's the feeling of that cold metal and the nakedness of the phone makes me not to buy a case.

    Insurance.. so you are paying on average 50% of your phone's value over a 2 year period, plus those deductables... Which is likely 3-4 times over the cost to replace a display.
    Just using a basic case will prevent drop damage in 95% or cases.
    If you break your phone, just buy the next model. Sell your old, and you will always come out ahead.

      You wont. Just dont "slide" it on a table. Most tables are softer material than the actual lenses. Oh, btw, those outer surfaces is not the actual lense, those are lense covering, glass-saphire hybrid. The actual camera lense is deep inside., even if you had a smudge or a little scratch on those outer surface, those wont show up on the camera because the distance between the sufraces are too close in focal lenght.
