Second story with the glass, it's a safety issue. She's breaking things so frequently that OP doesn't have time to heal between cuts, accident or not until they figure it out they should switch to plastic, wood and/or metal.
I am wondering if its somehow deliberate and a passive-aggressive way to get back at the OP for something else? Didn't sound like the GF was getting cut herself...
Last Story: A petty thing to do to repay Luke for his “consideration” would be to say nothing, pretend to be going, don’t go, and turn off my phone on his birthday. He and his friends can treat themselves wherever they want to eat at. We aren’t friends anymore. But, OP sounds too nice for this. Luke is just bullying OP and OP is feeling bad about possibly backing out. OP, Luke is not your friend.
Story 1. That kid will have to live through hell every time a new person has to figure out that butchery of a name. Every new class where the teacher will mangle it at least once when they first say it aloud to the class. Seriously, I can already hear the kids mangling it on purpose. Poor ghouly yeti. There are so many ways for a child to be unique, it’s simple good sense to not shackle a kid with a crap name like that.
Really, it just seems so horrible to me. I really do hope she wasn't give that name with such spelling even though I know the parets must have already named her that. I feel speechless with such parents.
DUDE "ghiuliyette"??? It's like they're doing a "have your child hate you" speedrun 😭 if they wanted a unique spelling they could have done something where it's less common but at least normal like "juliette" instead of just "juliet"
@@idontwannabemeanymore The thing is, when I picked out names for my baby, I also had other associations with them. You know, an unpleasant experience with a Janet, a great experience with Michael (depending on the gender of the unborn, obviously). Even though I hadn't had the baby yet, I had to find a name that fit her/him. Something which would NOT cause angst every time they signed a document or spoke it out loud or tried to explain it over a phone...wasn't on my to-do list.
The lady saying she can feel the dead kid, isn't being helpful, she's trying to make the parents' grief about her. At the very least it's incredibly insensitive. It's like those church people who will say the kid is in a better place, as if they're home was a horrible place.
0:05: I know there are different spellings for many names, but sometimes you wonder what these parents are on when they name their child. These parents never take into consideration what their kid might go through with a name like that, and the fact they reacted as they did says a lot about them. If this is something she needs help with, she should seek counselling. Otherwise, OP might have to dump her. 4:47: OP's brother's GF was out of line for bringing up the presence of a deceased loved one without being asked to do so. This GF is very insensitive and should have kept this to herself to keep the peace. 6:43: It's not so much that Luke picked a vegan-unfriendly place to celebrate his birthday (though it is an issue), it's that he expected OP to watch other people eat their meals that she is footing the bill for while she is left out in the cold like by not being able to have a meal of her own. OP was right to rescind the offer and just have dinner with Luke alone.
Unique or asking for thier child to be bullied? This one clearly falls in the second category! Best tip I ever heard if you want to name your child something unusual go to Starbucks, Costa anywhere they ask your name to put it on the cup and say your baby name options (obviously if its clearly female Mum do it not Dad (or brother or male friend if he's not in the picture) etc- also gender neutral good idea to both do it) and see the staffs reaction and if they can spell it! You tell them its Juliet and that is how they will spell it, you say its with a G and you will get Guliet, you would need to entirely spell this at which point you realise how much of a pain this will be for your child their entire life until they're old enough to change it thier self!
The amount of supporters of that weird first story is astonishing! I've actually went to school with people who had unusual spellings. Yes, their names were butchered and they were teased. Yes, all adults aren't adults and will still bully and tease. I respect her for trying to spare the child. I'll even let the middle name go as ok. She wasn't bullying the child, as I've seen some comment, she was attempting to spare it from a horrible fate possibly leading to psychological trauma or even suicide. This is why judges be getting involved. People will name their child hashtag and abcd (legit forgot what the actual name sound was supposed to be for that one. Abcity or something). 😐
Apparently that first story if you drop the h then it’s spelled as the Italian version of the name. So it is actually spelled Giuliette which is the Italian spelling.
Depending on where they live, there are naming laws put in place and they vary from state to state, even from country to country. Unless the couple were Italian, some states won't allow them to use the Italian spelling of "Juliet". Heck, I got bullied for having a unisex name that had a more masculine connotation because of a famous person. One group decided to "expose" me by pulling a fire drill, knowing the police would investigate. In front of the police and the whole school, they intended to "pants" me to show me wearing boxers, to prove I was male and just wanted to peep on girls changing. Instead, they pulled my panties down as well and got their hands covered in my period blood. Even had college professors refuse to believe I was female because of my name. Even my car insurance changed my gender in my application, all because they didn't believe I was female.
I have a name so rare (spelling-wise) that I'm most likely the only person in the world with that particular spelling. I got bullied a bit. Nowadays, as a 30-year-old, I don't think about it too much, it is what it is.
3:27 GF constantly "losing her grip" could mean neurological issues, as yet undiagnosed. Needs to consult a specialist just to make sure what the basis of her issues are.
I thought the first was pronounced as Ghoul-iette, like a monster high name or smth. That kid is gonna be bullied and put into ever cringe meme page it she ever gets on the internet.
Now I undeterred giulia or Giuliette. I learned in highschool that j isn't in the Italian alphabet so id assume it's spelled the Italian way. This, however, is just plain wrong.
In the fourth story, his friend Luke is just so disrespectful , mean, and really just so rude to for even doing something like that, and this really just goes to show the main protagonist that Luke never liked his lifestyle choice in the first place. As a matter of fact; I bet he even made fun of and cracked all sorts of jokes about the main protagonist to all of his other friends who were meat eaters just like him. The main protagonist shouln't even go and if this ruins the friendship then oh well.
For the first story, people will just think her parents can't spell properly. It reminds me of when Percy writes the note for calving and leaves it for Daryl Vanessa in the movie Little Man. Not with misspelled names of anything, just bad spelling in general. Plus, that poor kid might get bullied for the way not only their first name is spelled, but also their middle name. It looks like gibberish.
4:44 my mom was kinda stressed when I was a little kid, if I even accidently pushed over a cup without breaking it she would get mad at me and yell at me. If that didn't happen, I might've turned out like her
A child's first exposure to words usually starts with their name. They learn a lot about phonics rules with their name. That name will not help! There has actually been studies that children with unpopular spellings have a more difficult time learning to read. But yeah, name your kid whatever. It's better than a symbol!
Had this conversation with a friend at work. Saw the sanity leave him when i told him about JKMN... Pronounced Noel. Think about the alphabet, you'll see the insanity.
@@o.m9514But children will always be a hole's and bully people! I was bullied for over a decade at school and I have a normal name! I know a few of those with children I grew up with, apparently I am the biggest compulsive liar ever because every child who bullied me "Could never do that" so they will never have any repercussions to bullying and it will only get worse!

The first story , I would change my name if am were that kid. The second story, this girl is really inconsiderate of her boyfriend, he got hurt because of her. The fourth story, I will be no longer friend with this Luke at his place. Thats not how a friend his suppose to be. This guys is just an asshole. I will never understand people like that.

"Your kid is unique if they're unique." That's a nonsensical statement. Names play a big role in who we are as people. We are all different, but things such as names are how we express our uniqueness to the world. I fully side with Ghiuliyette's parents. Hii ellen I love the video and your outfit I hope that you and coco have had a wonderful day and that y'all stay healthy and safe also coco is adorable I love the both of y'all 💜💜💜
My sister has a typical sounding name spelled uniquely, (I think my mom said a dream inspired the spelling) and she had a few issues with people, but nothing too bad. A uniquely spelled name is only a bad thing for the kid if we don't teach our kids to not bully others for having unique names. This person is Ghiuliyette's first bully. We only have a negative reaction to the name because we're taught that unique names are bad for kids. We don't have to continue this pattern. Society can kick this habit.
The spelling does make a name unique as well as the culture. Just because it's not approved by Americans to is American does not make is wrong or excessive, it simply isn't American.
I love my name but it’s disappointing when you go on family trips and you can’t get any souvenirs with your name on it. She’s gonna hate seeing Juliet on keychains or snow globes
How are you doing sweetie? How are you feeling? I hope just great!! In the very first story, the main protagonist is right about that because kids might make fun of her name when she actually starts school, or what if the daughter just forgets how to spell her own name. On the other hand though the spelling of her friend's daughter's first and middle names are truly unique, and one of a kind too. It's her friend and her friend's husband choice what to name and how to spell their child's name at the end of the day. Some of the child's future teachers will most definitely call her by the wrong name. My real name is Matthew Larry and for the longest while I was in school, most of the substitute teachers whom I had were always calling me Larry Matthew to which I would always politely corect them. In the second story, his girlfriend sounds like the type of woman who'll burn his whole house down accidentally. He should buy everything plastic for her to use like plastic cups, plates, and silverware too. Why in the world did she pitch a fit just because he poured her drink in a plastic cup? She is very clumsy and that's the real reason as to why she's always breaking his glasses, and then she never officially clean up those broken shards on the floor the right way. Does she not understand that she is literally injuring him on accident and she doesn't even care. Do yourself a favor and break up with her if she can't understand that she's the main one whose causing him pain by not cleaning up after herself. In the third story, that would have been an automatic fade right then and there because the brother's girlfriend is completely in the wrong for even saying something so disrespectful like that. I would've booted her out of my house with the quickness. I love you!! Have a nice day!! Stay safe!!
Well look at that, Mahriya is a name that exists in another language. Apparently from Bangladesh? Name aside OP and Loreen have known each other for 17 years and are 21/22 so basically since forever. Escalating the argument by saying that OP is "the worst friend ever" and that she won't see the baby ever again seems way over the top. That being said OP writes "recently told US the name". Who's 'us'? Was someone else there that agreed with the spelling, or kept their mouth shut to be polite? I still think the friend's reaction is extreme, even though I wouldn't have texted Loreen the next day to repeat the. same. thing. about the spelling.
I didn't try to make my kid's name 'Unique', but....we had kids late in life......do you know how many names are already 'taken' or even names you like are of someone you or your significant other hated growing up, lol. They are said exactly how they are spelled at least. However!!!!!!! After making fun of our kid's names (even though they have them for very specific reasons) my SIL named her kid with a silent J, that doesn't actually exist in the name. I am INFURIATED and can't say anything because I know anything I say will be seen as making fun of their kid, not their idiot parents. They are going to resent their name....but 🤷♀️. Just.... sayin'......
Story 1: Is that from r/Tragedeigh? Last story: A friend of mine is Muslim and eats halal. I always let him pick the restaurant, because I want him to enjoy the food and it doesn't take away anything from my enjoyment. In fact, halal food is great. I've been to Buddhist vegetarian restaurants with friends for the same reason. It's just one meal out of the many I have throughout the year. If I were OP, I wouldn't feel bad about taking back my offer when faced with that attitude.
5:59 I believe in those who can see and feel spirits or entities... but would probably get angry if they're using the opportunity of their 'gifts' and present themselves to find closure. I mean, if she really has the gift (the gf in the story), she wouldn't word it that way. I just feel like she just wanted to help but the words came out wrong. I wanted to know how the teenage son died though... since the gf mentioned closure. So it could be an illness or some sort of accident. So we could only guess and assume the kid is still lingering around because of unfinished business.
The second story is his partner a child? And also dont walk around without shoes when a shard has been broken recently, at this point you are just asking for it
This is reminds me so much of Elon Musk renaming his own child’s name from a normal name to a question mark. Like, how is that even allowed? Every time that child writes his or her name on a school paper it’s gonna make teachers wonder who’s paper it is. Not to mention the teasing from other students, and the resentment towards your own parents for naming you ?. Also, for context, Elon Musk himself said his child’s name with be pronounced as **why**
Kyutie laughing at the girl who breaks glass is just mean! I'm the same way. Was born like this. It's a medical condition where what you see doesn't get processed through the brain right. So you knock and spill things. The difference is I clean it up and I only use plastic dishes.
Why should people care so much about how other people name their kids? It’s not their place to argue about it, and it’s pointless anyway. It’s better to spend that time and energy helping kids who are being abused now.
My sister did the same thing, giving her son a super weird spelling of the name Michael. I thought it was pretty stupid, but never brought it up. Years later, and nothing ever came of it. You're right, on all counts.
First story it's nobody's business what the name their child or how they spell it just because we have texting and we have the internet and all this other BS doesn't mean you can go out trying to controlling other people's lives stay out of it. If you're a good friend leave it be and mind your own business.
The first one... That person was being the asshole for sure. First of all, it's not their child, so it's not up to them how the kid's name is spelled and it's not their place to criticize it either. No one asked for their opinion. If I were the parents, I wouldn't want that person around me or my kid anymore either if that's the kind of thing they're comfortable commenting about. You don't talk crap about people's kids, I don't care what the situation is. It's not right. Parents have a right to name children whatever they want to name them. If the kid wants to change their name when they're old enough, then that's fine. It's just a name. It's not the end of the world. My name is spelled in a different way than the traditional spelling as well and I find it disrespectful for anyone to be trying to tell parents that they shouldn't have spelled their child's name a certain way. Personally, I think that spelling of Juliet is beautiful. I don't blame the parents for cutting ties with that jerk. I wouldn't want someone around my kid that's so comfortable with criticizing their name. If they'll criticize that, they'll criticize other things about the child... and they thought they were being smart by bringing up that the kid is going to get bullied. Meanwhile, they're bullying the child by saying that the spelling is stupid. They're being the exact kind of person they claim they care about keeping the child away from. You can't listen to people like that...
I’ve seen this enough times that people in the west name their children weird names to stand out because in English there are not many words who have special meanings 😂😂 that’s why
yes there are. people are just stupid. like for example: Royalty is cute and special. Empress is pretty, Star is a cute name, Reign is special, there's plenty of awesome words but many people in America get a terrible education.
That kid will HATE her when she has to start learning to write it in school!
Even before then, when the teachers can't pronounce her name in kindergarten and preschool.
The kid is lucky, I went onto ancestry and found people named sh!t, poop, fart, and turd.

Every name was weird at some point. Names just become normalized over time.

Hello Kyutie?💗
HEY BEAUTIFUL 👋

First story it's nobody's business what the name their child or how they spell it just because we have texting and we have the internet and all this other BS doesn't mean you can go out trying to controlling other people's lives stay out of it. If you're a good friend leave it be and mind your own business.
There may have been a more tactful way to approach her friend with her concerns. After that, leave it be, as you said.
