This is actually true, you can get an infinite amount of high level rock drake eggs too. If you render distance the nest that holds the high level egg fast enough before it de-spawns a new high level egg spawns in.
Yi Ling are actually REALLY easy to use once you figure out how to use them and are actually pretty useful for knocking out anything that isn't tiny/small. Some tips for the Yi Ling: 1) You can launch yourself further up into the air after jumping off of a surface that you are latched onto so that you can get even more air time. 2) You can latch onto surfaces without gliding by just simply running up to the surface and latching. 3) You can auto-latch during a glide by sprinting into a latch-able surface. 4) When you're trying to use the Sedate feathers you actually don't want to be trying too too hard to hit the target. What you want to do instead is mainly focus on your gliding and do strafing runs because dinos will commonly stop doing aggro sprints towards you if you're too high for them to possibly hit(typically at least several meters) so you just glide towards them while spraying feathers, either just circle back around for another run(which will give your feathers plenty of time to refill) or latch onto a surface if you feel like you need some more height, then just repeat the process until you get the meter full, but, before doing your Rupture, I do recommend seeing about latching onto a surface before diving in if you can since this will refill your Dash so that when you do Rupture and it pushes you back up into the air you can do a Dash which will give you double the normal height you get after doing Rupture. In order to learn how to control a Yi Ling decently well you just have to be patient and practice a bit as using Yi Ling requires some level of patience, but is very worthwhile once you've figured it out.
That is good to know. A shame the next map is probably gonna be extinction which has nearly nothing but the ground and open skies to the south and nothing but gigas and hills to the north. Not a great environment for something that even vaguely relies on walls or cliffs for mobility Granted the city and its tall buildings might offer some good height to glide to the dome biomes

Syntac if you go back to the center series and try beating the boss, you should actually use spinos since there is a layer of water which will give them a hydration buff (you should test with an army of spinos and rexes to see which is better for the boss)
I made a teleporter in the redzone for poly/metal/gems and for shits and giggles I dropped a bunch of yi lings as base defense, and they actually do a good job of killing reapers
Damn, those feathers have some range on them. If the YiLing would fire them from the ground, just whipping its tail up and over like a scorpion, then the creature would be MUCH better

As someone who loves using the Yi Ling to the point I’m working on making an ultimate one through mutation & genes, it’s kinda sad to me Syntac doesn’t like it. I actually use the Yi ling as my main source of travel(though keep in mind I don’t use Bobs Tall Tales so no cosmo & I don’t know if I just can’t use them anymore but Rock Drakes feel way more buggy to use then they used to be)
@@azura9801 It's a matter of opinion really. I have pretty much zero use for Cosmo on Ab since he doesn't act like a light pet. I'd rather fly around on a Yi Ling and have a light pet on my shoulder to keep Nameless away. I find the Yi Ling a lot more fun to use as well, you can get amazing aerial views on a Yi Ling by slow gliding around.
@azura9801 cosmo is a paid creature and not everyone bought the dlc. So, the Yi ling is still a useful mount for most players :) And I agree with who says that being on a mount is safer 😅 I'm so scared to walk on my feet around Aberration 🤣 But I hope to buy the dlc. It worth also for what it has been added. Yes, I'm looking at that gene thing! It's wonderful! Oh, and the zeppelin and the linked storage 👀
Jim has a lovely lady Basilisk, she's Jims favorite Dino & he might be willing to Trade some Honey for Eggs, he's still hunting that honey, ease the mans suffering lol Also, when the Yi Ling is on follow & stuff defending you, does it fly around, shoot & dive on things or after tame does that Require a rider? Could be a good defensive guy for personal or base if it did still do that without a rider. Though I have a feeling it requires a rider.
I appreciate you trying to use spinos. They are so common on this map, but no one (except the revenant Becca Darkedge) uses them here. It’ll be really cool to see a super mutated aberrant spino
Yay Spinos! Mid 40's is about the best I've run across on spinos myself except of course for food which is at 47 currently. You may want to try taming 135+ At least they're a lot easier to get on Ab as opposed to The Island. I also find it disappointing that they aren't a higher kibble tier.
Yi Ling needs to stop attacking every freaking creature when wild. It makes no sense that it would be such an aggro creature towards larger dinos for no reason. They should only attack smaller things or maybe just a singular prey
I mean, they're able to circle and fly away from their targets. While not being top of the food chain or an "apex" of any kind, i feel like they'd be cocky enough to be one of those aggressive dinosaurs just bc they can. Of course, it's a game, so 🤷 Birds can be cocktail assholes 👍
tier 3 Vampiric is pretty crazy for cave mounts.... I have a fully imprinted baryonyx I've been using to farm the swamp cave - I have a little over 10k health on it and the rest of the points in melee.... I always come out of the swamp cave full health now... before it was always half health...
Hey there Syntac, we thoroughly enjoy your videos so keep up the good work!! Just wanted to say that a Yi Ling can be useful for acquiring you first Rock Drake egg as they are immune to radiation. Found that out personally myself and my 1st Rock Drake served me well until I was able to do some breeding. Not sure if you guys were aware of that but I just thought it would be good info just in case!! :)
Second on the comments that you need to breed Yi Lings to have a decent one. You can get reasonable weight on them and even run the surface or bosses with them. But you have to get a few high-stats and imprint. Likely your basic tamed Yi Ling was not doing much torpor to that Spino, but an imprinted one can single tap a lot of targets and quickly knock out very large creatures with no risk to the rider. Sadly, Yi Ling are one tame that requires a lot of skill to use.
After the horrendous ordeal of trying to tame my Yi Ling (3 others spawned and joined in the fun) I really love it. I use it to go everywhere and put a fighter in a poke ball for when I need it.
Ive been using Karkinos to grab the yi lings and take them to a taming pen. And yeah they're great, especially against reapers with the DoT nameless feather. Imprinted and high melee with angry traits, sooo much damage.

You can continuously web jump if you tap your web on something and then look back to the direction you wanna go and web jumb again. It will is up your web ammo so it's not infinite.
Honestly seeing spoilers of the other guys builds makes me think about them and makes me curious about their series and honestly I probably wouldn’t watch them if it weren’t for that. Not because I don’t like the other guys or anything but TH-cam is much more likely to recommend you

kind of funny how the "brown mushrooms" help in some specific cases was that an accident or on purpose the colour of those mushrooms ifs the name of that DIno Lingchi if so its translated losely to something like death from a thousand cuts , I think that for this Dino it should mean it will take 1000 cuts to do anything to other dinos lol
The brown mushrooms help against the drowning hallucinations and the aquatic (a blue color) helps against the freezing in the blue zone. Not sure if there are more hallucination effects. If you eat them, you get a shield effect on your effect bar that will tell you what they shield you from.
It’s a little mistake new ark players make when they first join ark. Just go to settings, select game rules and turn on “Max difficulty”. If your on official the max level on wild creatures is 150 ( except for special egg stealing creatures: wyverns/rock drakes/ magmasaur.etc which is 190 )
That bottle on Yi Ling saddle definitly carries some special liquor, since people in china love to use it to drink alcohol when they are traveling on foot.🤣 This was really nice saddle design Wildcard.
Lol Skill issue or just not bothering to spend a little time to try. I do admit that I feel they could use a bit more weight, but it took me probably less then a half hour of practice using it to get the hang of it and it's now my favourite Ab creature to run around on.
I still want them to make trophy drops useful beyond just boss fights. Also brains and Sacco skin to make riot gear, argy talons to make grappling hooks, Tito lungs for forges, etc.
Well for yi ling it’s balancing, imagine such an early creature that’s already so good at travel having high weight. All the threat of Abberation would kinda just be gone. Plus you can fix the problem by simply imprinting it to get higher weights.

I got lucky with my spino’s finding a 135 then after going through the river a couple times I found another 135 of the opposite gender. Then had a 140 despawn, found & got another 140 and then bred them to go & my first ever rock drake egg.
I for the life of me cannot figure out how to get the traits onto a creature. I would love a "How To" for this. It's frustrating me cause I've gone and gathered a bunch of traits and I can't transfer them to creatures.
What's your starvation? My server is also 3x taming (granted, we also have Diff 10, which means max wild is 300/370 for egg tames like Drakes) And while yea you can berry tame, kibble is still very handy and needed

But that would be unbalanced, plus being able to mount on a wall basically has the same effect

Best Yl Ling attacks ... Change the Feather Type to what you need, then whistle Attack Target and watch it attack like a pro, on its own.

hey syntac how do you get the dino levels to go up in 5s? i can only find lvl 2-36s D:
you need to change the settings in game. Syntac plays with the max levels at 5, with is the official server settings. by default it is lower.
Look up a guide for the level settings, I can’t remember off the top of my head exactly which slider effects that but you can easily find videos on it
Load game, select game rules, then world. Set max difficulty to ON.

I believe bio, like narcotics, raises torpor fast whilst berries is a slow rise, to keep it unconscious berries, but to quickly re-raise torpor bio.
