Let me lay down facts straight, I myself also hate Overwatch & all these new cartoonish millennial shooters which has become a culture these days but that has nothing to do with how good or bad this guy actually is. People are slagging this dude & acting so unwelcoming into the Quake community are also the one who cries first on forums saying why there’s bots playing in my games, please grow this game, add this remove that bla bla. This guy looks actually decent & he is already better than me or most of people here & hell he is already better than most of my potato team mates I get in QC pubs, if he can attract few more half decent people in an already very low count community of Quake then I see no harm with this. just because he played OW or Fortnite or any other stuff, that doesn’t make him any less of a Quake gamer when he boots his game & willing to put work into it.
The fact that you place OW in the same category as fortnite says a lot about your understanding of games. Also please know that quake is cartoonish as fuck as well. Lastly know, that it's not the art syle that dictates whether or not a game is intended for mature/skilled/tryhard players but the gameplay. Is Overwatch as hardcore as quake? Nope, in no way shape of form. It is designed to be welcoming to newbies. But is it as deep at the highest levels of play? You can bet your sorry ass that it is.

The comments on this video make me feel like there are a lot of jerks in the community, but that hasn't been my experience when playing Quake Champions. If people said anything at all, it was just "GG." I've only run into two people who were d-bags, and they seemed like they were new to the game. Anyways, I like the game, but I also like Overwatch and Fortnite, so it's weird when I hear people acting like only one game can be good. It's a shame people can't just enjoy their game without trashing talking someone else's choice.

I love quake, always have but overall, the quake community stinks and the comments below prove that. Full of elitists and haters. I've been playing quake since Q1 - Q3 and was late getting in to QL. I couldn't even get to play a game because entitled idiots kicking everyone who's below a certain rank / amount of games played. Loads of (should be now quake - players) had the same experience and gave up to play a FPS with more a more welcoming community. Then you wonder why quake games never become super popular in the first place?

Who Cares? what is there too keep track of in quake other than movement aim map positioning/control and powerup timings? its a small brain game compared to overwatch and csgo. if you already have decent aim quake is way easier to pick up than the first person shooters that have actual esports communities, the strategy and preparation that goes into a pro level match of OW or CSGO compared to Quake is like comparing chess to checkers. I got into FPS games from Halo so naturally i became a fan of the Quake pro scene as it is the most competitive arena shooter, but shortly after I realized it's literally impossible for arena shooters to have the same level of strategy and depth as team based objective games bc arena shooters are intrinsically much simpler. Have fun playing your dying game full of 30 year olds with washed up reflexes 😂😂😂
Professional Overwatch players? Yep, the league pays a minimum of 50k + health benifits + 50% of win profit goes to the players. One player was even reported as making 150k.
