Thank you for your giving your opinion, Graff. We only had to care about who headed our nation as CIC and the cabinet positions under him because they were blatantly incompetent. Far from being "the darkest of subjects," Patel's nomination points toward illumination and light at the end of the Obama-Biden tunnel.
Hundreds of thousands of law-enforcement officers across numerous agencies are supporting Patel's nomination. They are the people most qualified to judge his abilities to lead and inspire them to perform their duties without having political influence or interest in doing anything other than their law-enforcement jobs. What we witnessed during the past couple of decades was how political bias and manipulation were exposed as deeply unAmerican, in some cases approaching traitorous.
The first thing you do when attempting to rob a bank, museum, casino, or business, is disable the security system in some way. If the crime can't be detected, it's easier to conduct. If the criminal can't be easily identified, it's easier to get away with the crime. Most of the cabinet appointees are underqualified enough that they stand a good chance of being fired within a year. Maybe the length of their tenure only needs to be long enough to carry out the heist. And with the SCOTUS, DoJ and FBI looking the other way....
Biden was literally selling government access/influence through his son, while using the FBI and DoJ to attack anyone who called this out as criminal, and you have the nerve to levy this claim on Trump, wild.
Can you imagine how tight this group is going to be? Patel, Gabbard, Holman, Hedgepath, Kennedy, Musk, Vance and of course Trump all on one team. All who have gone through withering fire to get these jobs. Can you imagine the gravitas they will have among the Republican party. If Lindsey Graham gives Tulsi any problems can you imagine Pete Hedgepath and JD Vance showing up with a bar soap in a sock and asking Lindsay if he wants to "reconsider" his position. It's going to be glorious.
Trump's genius in forming his cabinet lies in choosing people with real-life experience who are as committed to working on behalf of the American people as he is. As someone who has formed many organizations to produce a given result, he knows to employ the most competent and skillful people to create and manage complex entities committed to the goal of protecting, defending and promoting the interests of the people. No one who has only worked in the political sphere need apply.

@@spat726 Having unelected and unaccountable executive departments that the voter has no control over (vis a vis an elected president) is much closer to Putin. NYT and people of the same feather are essentially arguing that the executive branch should be run by totally unelected people who can't be fired by the elected President (in their ideal world). That's not what the Constitution says though. The elected President being able to fire executive officers is the mechanism by which the electorate has a say in how the executive branch operates. "Independent" executive agencies essentially abrogate the concept of "consent of the governed". All of these executive departments only have authority in the first place because it is conferred to them by the democratic election of a President. They are illegitimate in exercising power otherwise. For example, the Federal Reserve. It exercises an enormous amount of power over the economy, yet the electorate has essentially zero say in how the Federal Reserve operates. The President cannot fire the Fed Chairman, he cannot control any policy in the Fed. So in practice that means we have a bunch of unelected and unfirable bankers deciding the fate of monetary policy. Not very democratic.
