    Looks like a training and simulation area, would explain all the server racks to deal with different attack simulations from air, land and sea scenarios, do not think it is a bunker but rooms to isolate all the operators, this keeps everyone unaware of changing battle environments. Would be used to test and train battle operations officers. The balcony was probably used to view the graphic simulation environment and the officer(s) in command of the theatre being engaged.

    I noticed some of the doors were knife edge doors. They protect comms and electricals from EMP. This usually means the facility is above ground and not deep level

    It’s definitely not blood. I’ve been to many crime scenes and blood once out of the body congeals (clots) and becomes really thick . Platelets and proteins in a persons plasma work together by forming clots. Old blood gets darker and browner.

    10:52 I could be wrong but on rooms like these there could be some dangers when entering. have no idea what this room is for but it could for example be possible that this room is for sterilizing objects, equipment or anything else by using radiation. even tho there are no radiation warning signs around visible in the video, there has been other incidents inside another type of building where there was very poor warning signs regarding the radiation danger and no locks on the doors to a room that had an enormous radiation source and because of that a couple of people had died because of the poor safety. and here there are no other warning signs other than the "inform guard force (Ext 4014) before opening door". but again i could be wrong, could be because of explosive, bio, chemical, air pressure or gases or something.

    Just so you know its not some bunker its a place called QinetiQ located in Malvern that used to work on developing the UK's navel and air systems such as navigation, weapons, armour etc the place got closed down due to asbestos and it would of been cheaper to close the place down and move then remove and replace it

    Contrary to some of the comments here, this was a bunker of sorts. It was built as the prototype for the ROTOR R4 bunkers used by the RAF under the ROTOR scheme in the 50s and 60s. The one in this vid was never built to be operational, it was used to test the equipment and systems - the real R4 bunkers were places like Kelvedon Hatch, Shipton, Barnton Quarry and few others, buried securely underground. It was then refitted over the years to test new equipment used by the RAF in their surviving air defence bunkers such as Boulmer...

    • @truevip100
      @truevip100 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why waste all of that money, time and materials to build a prototype? This was clearly an operational building at some point.

    • @m7dgz
      @m7dgz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@truevip100 honestly it never was. The ROTOR scheme was started early to mid 50s, a huge number of sites were constructed in various designs (R1, R2, R3, R4, etc) all across the country. The technology was in its infancy, so the prototype site was needed for various testing needs. ROTOR never really worked, and the number of sites was quickly reduced, then various other schemes such as LINESMAN/MEDIATOR, UKADGE, etc were introduced over the next few decades to try to build a workable system - arguably none of it really worked properly until the 1990s. The site in the video was used for testing kit across all the various schemes, as were a number of the "proper" sites like Ash, Holmpton in the 80s and 90s. But this was definitely never an operational facility I'm afraid.

    • @truevip100
      @truevip100 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If that’s true, then this has to be a total waste of money. Why not just build a scale model and test this way? To build a full on facility just to test to see if will work prior to building the real thing sounds ridiculous

    • @m7dgz
      @m7dgz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@truevip100 the need was to actually test all of the kit working together, for the 50s it was ultra high tech, even though it seems laughable out of date now. Remember a huge number of sites were being built, it's not like today where the RAF has two or three air defence bunkers, ROTOR needed 60-70 sites, some sites had radar systems, those passed radar plots on to other sites that plotted all of the plots from radar sites in its sector to form a consolidated picture. So, in the scheme of things, one more site amongst 60 is nothing.

    • @ianddavidson1
      @ianddavidson1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@truevip100 Sometimes you just have to build the first one to flush out the problems. The Swiss built many big civilian Nuclear shelters, but it wasn't until they occupied them they found some really serious issues that brought the whole plan into question.

    Grew up in corsham, once got chased for pointing a bright orange water pistol at gate guards(armed) it's true there are many tunnels and rooms, lots of space. Some of it is used to store wine, !?! Mod is all over Wiltshire, I know cos my father worked f mod, spent most his time in cape Canaveral. I really wld love t go back and explore, copenacre (where the chap was) was fully functional back then. Probably an urban myth but the London to Bristol rail track runs through corsham and goes through box tunnel, one of Brunel. They say the queens train wld stop in the tunnel allowing access to this mad place. Wish I knew 30 yrs ago

    In terms of security, the fact the door level security and airlock are present usually indicates the building is based on a relatively insecure site. Think of it like an onion skin. If you have a top secret site with dogs and men with guns plus overt patrols and heavy surveillance, you usually won’t require heavy security internally as everyone on the site will be cleared to a high level. It’s not been unknown for secure bunkers on military bases to be found with doors propped open with fire extinguishers…. The airlocks are quite cool as they can also weigh you in and out of the area.

    11:51 is a type of turnstile called a Tubestile. It is a means of controlling access, normally part of a card based access control system. These were initially designed and installed by a UK company as far back as the 1970's. Can't remember who made them, but can remember where they were installed.

    Some of the chemicals and equipment look like photographic development as the viewer was there in the first room. It could be processing and training for photographic development by airborne or land cameras. It also could be processing sensitive photos from unexplained occurrences or happening and possible contact. But its speculation.

    Thoughts:
    4:00 - Not a hospital, as you said in your first vid it's "signals" - so please remove that "Area-51" assumption, - suggest editing the title as it doesn't look serious for abandoned exploration. Heavily secured rooms are likely signals, codes, encryption etc - they will be subject to the kind of security you saw. Really look forward to more vids, but... really.. isn't blood lol.
    It's also not a "Vault", or a "bunker" to survive anything. It's more of a big safe to protect something, i.e. codes, computer stuff it's not designed to resist explosions etc etc.. Good luck operating that push,turn,slide lock next time :) Reckon you just needed to slide it a bit more..

      The ROTOR bunker mock up was used to test equipment in an operational setting. As a research bunker there was no need for it to be underground. The most significant piece of technology to stem from the research in that building is the invention of the Touchscreen.

    This looks very simmiler to a place not too far from me. Bunkers are mostly viewed as military instilation's. However, this (if it is indeed the same place) was used by utility company's (water, gas and electricity mainly) there was a small military presence, however, it was mainly limmited to sciantific support, site security and things simmiler to that. The end of the site's service life is a bit odd and rather grey to the point where I don't fully understand it. From what I can gather, it was handed over to either, DSTL or some other sciance based organisation who ran certain tests, a few of which were directed towards animals and animal's organs (may explain the possible finding of blood as it came from a bag?) When I last went to see it, there was still power, and just after we left, we did run into a member of the MPGS, but that was back in around 2017 so it may well have changed. The labs before the hand over were used to run tests on water and determin if it was safe to drink so that they could alter the ratio of chemicals in the water to keep it safe. The aspestos signs are quite old, apparently, it was all removed before the site got handed over, but obviously, the risk is still there. There are quite a few rooms in there that were designed to store computers in the event of a nuclier attack in order to prevent them from being destroyed by the electro magnetic force of a blast.
    This may not be the same site, I know there are quite a few simmiler ones around the UK, but the layout is too simmiler for me not to give some insight. (also, some of this was from google, so don't quote me on anything)
