The Bank of England used to have to give you £20 in gold if you took a £20 note to them and demanded it.

My father was a Welsh Guardsman and his favourite place to stand guard was The Bank of England. Guardsmen wore plimsoles so as not the damage the floor with their hob nailed boots. Plus at the end of the guard each would be given a newly minted half crown, now this bought several pints of draft bitter.
The statue of Wellington is actually covering the ventilation shaft for Bank tube station below, you can feel the hot air draught emanating from the grille around its base. The statue of Greathead covers another shaft and has the grille at the top of the plinth.
LOL @ 1:15 "it's complete balls" there are some moments in your videos where I genuinely burst out laughing at your reactions and comments, addicted, luv it!
Very good video, not only for the tourist side, but also for a good history lesson.
In such a short video, I learnt about Duke of Wellington and Waterloo battle, James Henry Greathead and his revolutionary tunnelling shield and the origin of "spend a penny".

Where do I find the places to buy the Oyster card? We are staying by the Westminster Bridge and have the London Pass but thought it would be a good idea to have an Oyster card incase the Big Bus is not around. We are arriving on Tuesday, Aug. 14, and again on Aug. 22 and 23.
