You don't need to produce hits all your life to be remembered. Sometimes, one great song is all that is needed to make you immortal and undying in our hearts.
To all the people saying this song is about sexual abuse. ITS NOT! Its just the small girl's fantasies and silly dreams (Paree hoon main!). She has a crush on the teacher, and tries to impress him. Scene in the rain is symbolic of their feelings. The clothes drenched in rain and her dance show that she is excited about it and feels happy to be around the teacher. At the same time, Teacher's glancing at her shows how he feels about her behaviour around him and he realises what she is doing. He looks at her and then looks down, and he looks at her again, It is then he realises of the malevolent thoughts are forming in his mind and looks away again. He then chooses to move away from there and from her life for the better of both of them. Its a mature tale well ahead of its time and even FURTHER ahead of today's society's thinking .

I don't often comment but I think its not about Teen abuse, but about a teenager's infatuation towards her teacher. She is completely living in a different world. If you observe the video carefully at 2:07 the teacher finds out by accidentally going through her stuff and realises she might have taken the wrong boat, hence he leaves in the end , trying to convince her but she is hurt and refuses to understand and runs away crying.
