I’m reading once upon a broken heart now! I felt the same about the Caraval series, I was intrigued but not at all connected to characters so wasn’t blown away. Tip for book sizes, new releases are always larger, if you wait until it’s not a “new release”, they’ll print it in the other size.

Yeah I noticed with Stephanie Gerber's writing (I'm reading ballad of never after right now) she tends to tell you everything that's going on instead of showing you. So in theory it's interesting but the execution can be quite cold:/
When I was reading The ballad of never after and Jacks said that Ballads never end well I knew it was gonna be sad, but I didn’t know why. He LITERALLY warned us that we were gonna be sobbing Lol. 😭😭😭

I honestly recommend u to read the caraval series first. The main character of once upon a broken heart series appears in the second book of caraval, and the story is really important. It really helped me ❤
And this is my own opinion, but caraval was meh, nothing incredible, but legendary was awesome. As briddy said, the love triangle was the best thing ever to me

35:06 omg yess! I prefer when the guys' perspective stays mysterious and how it can make the female lead's feelings more relatable and build upon the suspense. I think that's probably why Magnolia Parks was good but also not my favourite. the drama of it all had me invested though!

Tog is just amazing. My go to comfort re-read and very different from ACOTAR. Just keep in mind going into this that she was very young 15/16 when she started writing this series. And I’m a believer of reading The Assasins Blade first. I said what I said 😅😅 so don’t come for me in the comments 👋🏾
I read Caravel in 2020, and got about halfway through Legendary but I DNF’d it because I wasn’t that into it!! But now i really wanna read Once Upon a Broken Heart… i might just do it anyway haha

I’m kinda the same with audio books I don’t really like them and if I’ve ever liked them it’s when they have a male and female narrator for the voices lol I think the only audio books I’ve ever listened to that I liked was Wildfire by Hannah Grace and also powerless by Lauren Roberts was pretty good also

I truly feel like I am one of the minority that absolutely LOVED the caraval series. I flew through them!! For me it was Finale / Legendary -> Caraval! I didn't love Jacks as much as everyone else did though so I am curious if I will love him more when I get to the once upon a broken heart books🫣

I didn’t know you were supposed to read caraval before once upon a broken heart 🫠 Should I start it now before I start the second book of once upon a broken heart? Or maybe just do it after I’ve finished the whole series, or just not bother to start it at all? Idk does anyone have any advise :)))
I would say you should read the caraval series first before going to the second book in the OUABH series.
