Pitties should be the #1 emotional support dogs, they always know what their humans need. One of the best breeds ever!!!
I must be having a moment because I actually teared up when they showed the shelter dog with the scars. The fact these dogs can be so forgiving is amazing.
Those pajama shots get me every time, especially the one wearing a lamb get-up.
I grew up with pit bulls idk why everyone is so afraid of them they are one of the sweetest animals to roam the earth

@Lily Knight News flash people are still scared of Doberman and they are still banned from a lot of apartment complexes. The reason why they aren't as scared as before because there aren't that many people owning them since they are large dogs that require a lot of grooming.

Pit bulls are amazing. If you want to adopt, make sure you want it.
Check the local laws first. They are banned in certain communities. The are BSL (breed-specific laws) that don't allow pit bull-type dogs and if they do, the dog must wear a muzzle. Also, check the insurance company. You might have to pay a higher premium or they won't cover period. I don't mean to discourage you, but some people don't know about these things.
I have had 3 "nanny dogs" in my children's lifetime and all of them were pit mixes ! One even saved us from a break in only 2 months after I recused him !

My husband and I are long distance. Whenever I get to go see him, his dog is always so excited to see me. I miss his pittie, my big Bear. He’s a big snuggle bug who just wants to love you and protect you. I understand how people can be afraid of them, they’re fiercely loyal and will do anything to protect their family

@@christinebuckingham8369 i don’t think @stephanie maria was being mean. telling a kid to go work to get something does not necessarily mean to go get a job. that can mean go earn it somehow like doing chores, studying, working for it somehow, etc anything other than just posting comment on youtube begging for likes. also since the parent has the money to get the mic, the kid can ask the parent if they can do chores around the house, get better grades, or something similar in exchange for the mic or money.

This is cute and all but not all pits are this cute. Some will rip your babies face off and have it for a snack. Lets not ignore the fact pit bulls are dangerous and at times unpredictable

My 12 yr old pit is my best friend, he is like my kid, and my whole life revolves around him. He is the sweetest big baby, great around kids and dogs of all sizes. He is the only thing I look forward to. I don’t know what I will do when he is gone, I pray that I get thru without him when he passes bc he has been the one to keep me keeping on thru the toughest of times bc I knew he needed me and cherished me more than anything.
Had mine for 15 years and another one for 1 year just lost her 2 weeks ago 💔 broke my heart. But I'm looking for another sweet girl already. The house is empty without a dog. Pitbulls are the best.
I feel the same way. My girl depends on me and everything I do revolves around her as well.

That is the most perfect way of describing them. My 13 year old pittie just keeps on chugging on. I'm 32 and pride myself in keeping myself in shape, yet this young at heart old man of a pittie can tire me out no problem without even panting

I miss my Pittie Neo so much. I lost him in November of 2019. He was misdiagnosed by 2 different vets, we took him to a 3rd vet but it was to late. He had cancer and he couldn't be saved. He was only 8 years old. I miss my big goofy boy. 💔😪
I'm sorry for your 💔. Nothing can fill that hole in your heart, but I hope that one day you will find the next one to take another place in your heart and your life.
There will never be another like him, but many shelter pitties are available to bring some of the joy back into your life. So sorry for your loss.

Animals are just like children: they live what they learn. When you are loving towards them, they feel it. The unconditional love you get in return is beyond words. Every pittie I have been around has been so sweet!

I have met border collies, tenth generation of cattle herders, who refused to herd or even go around the cattle.
I met a second generation dachshund who refused to hunt foxes.
I met a cane corso who was horrible at guarding, would let strangers come in all the time.
I met Chesapeake Bay retriever who was gun shy.
And that's even AFTER all of these dogs went through TRAINING!!!
One of my clients had a heeler, even though they did not have a ranch or farm. So that heeler would nip at them and othe people all the time. She aquited it to her "herding genetics", I suggested it was because she was NOT getting adequate exercise and attention (because she wasnt). Once they actually started doing daily walks and play time, she STOPPED nipping. Proving her "behavior" had nothing to do with genetics, and everything to do with environment.
"Genetic behaviors" are actually not a guarantee and the more studies go into this area of science, the more that these theories are getting disproved.
It's the old Nature VS Nurture argument. And since it is Nurture that shapes Nature, via memory in the cells... Nurture wins. Quite literally the term domestication. Domestication shows us Nurture is what shapes the nature of any species.
@@pilgrimsspiritualvoyage6252 Just because you encountered dogs that didn't adhere to their breed characteristics doesn't mean that those characteristics are invalid or don't exist.
Nothing is a guarantee, and despite hours of the best quality training, any dog can revert back to its instincts. In the case of pitbulls, those instincts tell them to maul, kill, and snap at the slightest provocation.

Oh, you're one of those.
Those are NOT pitbull traits at all. I am a vet tech and certified dog trainer. Therefore, I have studied genetics, anatomy, and the psychology of canines. What you spout is complete and utter nonsense. The first 30 years in which this breed was first produced, compared to the last 165 years, is NOTHING. Not to mention, in those instances where this poor breed was bred for fighting, it STILL wasn't a guarantee. They would torture and starve these dogs, in the HOPES that they would fight. But most, even under those circumstances, did NOT. So they were used for breeding and as bait dogs for the select few that were willing to fight. Not to mention, if you really want to use that logic, this is the ONLY breed on the entire planet that was bred NOT to attack humans. Even after being tortured and starved, if any of these dogs bit someone, they were immediately put down, along with ANY of their offspring.
As I already stated, the domestication process itself PROVES that dogs do NOT just revert back to their "nature." Their original "nature" derives from wolves, foxes, coyotes, dingos, etc. So, if that were the case, we wouldn't even have domestic dogs.
If you truly wish to be educated, I could give you my email, and I will be more than happy to give you all the information, scientifically proven and factual, regarding HOW genetics work, how canine psychology works, as well as domestication meaning and processes.

I was crying at the "life is short". My dog passed the bridge one year ago, and even If I really want another dog in my life I just can't do this. The thought of living again that experience of pain and sadness kills me, but maybe one day, with a fresh mind, I will adopt another little one. It's difficult live without my baby after 15 years together, who knows what her spirit will bring to me in the future.
As a UPS driver of 25 years, the one breed i look forward to the most in seeing is the pities. they are the most friendly dogs i come across and even though i know bad ones do exist, i have yet to see one.

My uncle rescued a pit off the streets that he named Beachwood. He was skin and bones and covered in cigarette burns but he was always forgiving and willing to trust people. Now thanks to my uncle and grandma, he’s fat, sassy and a total goof. He’s a watchdog but he only barks and is always wagging his tail once people actually come inside. He even does great with other dogs, even my aunts tiny yorkie. Definitely one of my favorite dogs.

Colby Bennard had two pitbulls. Raised them from puppies in a loving home. The dogs were never abused or mistreated. The dogs attacked, killed, and dismembered his two young kids and nearly killed his wife who tried in vain to stop it. Thats why people dont like these "loveable pitties" and the incessant propaganda like what Dodo puts out
There are no bad dogs no matter the breed, but bad owners. Pitties deserve love too. Tq The Dodo for proving this time n time.

It's never the dog's fault but the owner's. Granted some breeds require very early teaching and behavioral management.
Their love ia unconditional.
I'd say sometimes it just might be the dog's fault when it was genetically bred for agression and to snap with seemly no provocation, which no amount of loving and cuddle time can just make magically disappear.
@@pitshoster401 i have seen plenty of dogs, various mixed breed dogs , lab mixes, goldies, who were down right mean, highly anxious afraid and defensive, ....mean / anxiety, afraid and defensive dogs come in all breeds unfortunately and you usually have the owners to blame these owners are frequently seen yanking the leashes using aversives like choke, pinch and shock devices, hitting, slapping, just adding to the increased fear and anxiety the dog is already exhibiting

This was a GREAT compilation and made my heart happy. They’re a truly awesome breed.

I miss my pitbull chopper! He lived till he was 15 years old and he was such ana amazing boy even though he had a hard first few years with bad people who beat him, he never let you know it and showed humans, dogs and cats so much love!

One of the most cuddly breeds. They want to please their owners so much which makes them easy to train. They’re great with kids and strangers for the most part. It all starts with time and love just like any other dog.
Pitties are the biggest love bugs most important thing in their life are their families of love. Next door neighbor to a gardening customer has a white pittie name Jack major love bug I make a big fuss over him for that extra love makes us both happy

I grew up with pits but not in a good way. They were only outside dogs made to be extremely violent. That was my only exposure to them so of course I was scared sh*tless. Now thanks to dodo, I’m educated and see they are BEAUTIFUL. All that horrible aggressive behavior was created by the humans. I’m going to a shelter soon to volunteer if they allow it, start being around them, keep educating myself and hopefully adopt a few pitties when we’re all ready❤️❤️
